+CenterTree777 It can, but Glock recommends you have it done by a gunsmith so as not to void the warranty and to make sure it doesn't affect the drop safety. There have been issues, but I think they ironed them out by the second production run.

I personally prefer my G19. I carry it everywhere. Even with my gym short, you just have to have the right holster for it. I even carry a spare magazine with an extension on it. The reason I decided to carry a G19 is because of firepower. If I'm going to carry something, it has to be able to hold out in a gun fight in the worst case scenario.

I think it's pretty cool that a company actually listens to their customers. A lot of people wanted a G42 but in 9mm. Well here it is! I like the G42, but it's great that people have the option of this new 9mm. I would love to have CC in NJ, but I don't see that ever happening. But I also don't see myself living here forever lol

I have been carrying mine for 5 years. No problems at all with it. Everyone swears by the 43x, but what nobody tells you is that you can buy extended mags with the attachments to make it look like the gun, and get the exact same capacity of the 43x, and you can also get deep concealment of the flush 6 round mag. You can't do that with the 43x, plus you can add a TLR-6 flashlight and laser combo to it.

Thank you Glock for this pistol. Nobody has an excuse to not have a reliable 9mm on them with this small tool with them. The Glock 43 is my favorite gun simply because it is the gun that fills in the cracks of my daily life when it is more difficult to carry something larger.

I see a lot of people claiming Glock did too little too late with the G43. I owned one for awhile and I did eventually sell it(Not because I didn't want it, but because I really wanted to put down the funds for a Gen 5 G19), but I recall it being the most naturally concealed handgun I carried. And thus, with it's 6 round magazines and slightly bulkier size for a near pocket-sized gun, I carried it every day. Plus, there are aftermarket baseplates that allowed me to carry it with an 8-round magazine without issue. If you can get the G43 for around 400-425, which I've seen them go for, you can own a superb firearm for self defense.

It's about 4mm thinner. Negligible, and probably not worth the ammo sacrifice. No, your 10rd G26 magazine will not fit. We may see +1 extensions (7rd total), but that'll be all. The target market is going to be for G42 owners to move up, G19 owners to move down, but not for G26 owners to side-step. It's just not very different than a G26. One millimeter here and there... nothing much.

Hmm... The gun in the video is stamped USA, but all of the other photos I've seen were marked Austria. A smooth trigger USA model would be my preferred choice, but I'm already on the list at my local blue label dealer regardless. I love my 26 & 42!

Bob Doe Hey Bob, I run the standard 10rd, no pinkie extension, factory magazines for CCW. One in the pipe, 9 in the mag. I usually run G19 magazines at GSSF because I have a bunch of them. As for the 43 there are a couple of reasons... - The 26 is bulky and heavy when compared against pocket 9s like say the PM9. The 26 is very concealable, holds up to 13rds, shoots great, and I hardly notice it once I have it on. Its just a bit too bulky and cumbersome to ALWAYS carry it. Rather than go through the trouble of putting on my Crossbreed Supertuck to go the convenience store, I would often just leave it at home. Not good. The 42 (carried 6+1) has pretty much replaced my 26 as my EDC and I do find myself carrying almost always. I have 400+ rds through it and it has been 100% reliable. I love both guns; do I feel I NEED the 43, no. Do I want a 43, yes! Do I foresee it replacing my EDC, probably. - As a Glock fanboy, and a fan of 9mm, Its just the next pistol on my list. I'm a GSSF member and for those that do not know, we get a coupon once a year to buy a pistol at below dealer cost (afaik). I bought the 42 on my first coupon, this year it will be the 43. So far I have already won 2 guns (G41 & G34) plus 2 x $50 checks and have only attended 3 matches! Btw, I placed no where near the top! These were door prizes, LOL! I still might win another as all of the door prizes have yet to be announced. - If not for GSSF, I'm not sure what I would have purchased... I would definitely have gotten the 42 or 43 eventually, but likely not both.

johnfranks Got it. I'm envisioning the G43 as either a step-up for current G42 carriers or a step-down for G19 carriers. People who EDC the G26 (which, as you said, you don't anymore), I can't imagine them wanting to sacrifice 4 rounds of ammo for a gun that's only 4mm thinner. Great choice with the G42; I love that gun.

Bob Doe Well if you carry it 6+1 its only 3 rounds... The +1 was something I hadn't really explored until I got the G42. That extra round makes the jump from 10 down to 7 a little easier to swallow. Another consideration, I'm more likely to throw a extra magazine in my pocket if I'm carrying my G42. Thats something I never did with my G26... It'll be interesting to see how it will be received by G26 owners. Your right though, on paper 4mm doesn't sound like much, but I think it will prove to be the single stack 9 we've all been asking for.

I have owned 20+ pistols S&W, Sig, Kahr, Ruger, Glock, Witness, etc. Different models and calibers. None twice and I'm not rich so usually 3 at a time . 1 primary, my backup and 1 for the home my wife can confidently handle. Except for a Glock 23 gen 3&4 and a Kahr 9. I found another combo that work as well for carry that I also love to shoot. Both great guns I am anxious to see if this new 43 will be able to take the spot of my K9. Anybody who has shot both have opinions? I have not had time to shoot the 43 yet. Also thinking about moving to a .45 what models should I look at? I don't like the 21 and not

Mitch Schaftlein I've already said- compared to the G26. Glock's subcompact 9mm's: G26 and G43. One carries 10rds, one carries 6rds. Glock sacrificed 40% of ammunition capacity and only shrunk the thickness of the gun by 4mm.

I own a Glock 23 in .40 S&W and though I've never had a problem I don't feel all that secure with it even though I carried it as my duty weapon at one time. The reason I don't feel secure is that the safety is on the trigger. Give me a 1911 Colt any time. An American made weapon. We're obviously all entitled to our own opinion and I have no argument with those who carry a Glock. Perhaps I'm old fashioned but I like a really positive safety and not one on the trigger.

The reason why there are so many police shootings in the US is that there are bad cops and there are good cops. The media tends to display the bad cops more than they do the good cops, so naturally, everyone will believe the police force is full of psychos. There are certainly cops who should not be on the force but they don't define the entire force.

Your presumption may apply to someone with intent on merely purse snatching, but a rapist or kidnapper could care less about the purse, they have other things on their mind. A woman who carries concealed in her purse also has the good sense to carry the purse secured to her person, across a shoulder, and to be alert to her surroundings. A woman's hand placed partially within her purse to secure her weapon draws much less attention than a woman raising her jacket or blouse in order to place her hand on her weapon. There are even tactical purses designed for concealed carry with openings located on the end of the purse, plus the purses have Velcro areas to hold a Velcro tabbed holster secure while withdrawing the weapon. My wife has carried concealed in her purse for decades. She uses quality leather purses with sewn leather shoulder straps crossed over her chest from one shoulder. When she is in stage orange of alertness, such as in a parking garage, she rests her hand inside her purse, if all is clear she pulls out her car keys, if not, she already has her hand on her revolver. At home alone, or when she chooses not to carry a purse, she conceal carries IWB on her person, and has been known to carry both ways when out with the kids at night. She really should place a Molon Labe patch on her carry purses. I dare anyone to try.

Carrying inside the waistband IN FRONT of your body (like the actors have there weapon) is uncomfortable as hell if you are carrying it for more than 2 minutes; Especially with a cheap Uncle Mike's IWB holster. Carrying it behind your hip is a better location.
