ELMS by G sight is a great dry fire instant response laser system for only $85 and it will time your draw and shot! It’s a laser cartridge that is inserted into the barrel of your own gun that is activated by the striker. It’s accurate and great for dry firing and draw and shoot dry fire practice.

I'm late to the party as a new Glock owner, but found this very helpful as I have heard that dry firing your weapon without either snapcaps or a 'dry fire' magazine is bad for the gun. Also it seems you have everything duplicated here except for the 'kick'. But good job! I live in SD so I will see yall soon to pick up my new weapon light.

Lenny is right about the probability of accidents while dry firing. 26 year Army veteran, never any weapons safety issues. Retired now; dry fired in the basement garage. Put the loaded mag in before walking inside the house. Racked it then dropped the mag but did not clear, pointed the weapon down and pulled the trigger. It fired into the concrete floor. Felt shrapnel run up my hamstring. No injury, but felt the burn.

You have to mod the gun for the laser? There is the “dry fire magazine” but that doesn’t work with a new laser and app that you can use.

That is cool. Is it ok to dry fire the new Glock with out a snap cap? I've seen some slide damage to an older Glocks.

@OriginalEric9 жыл бұрын
john clev It's not necessary for modern centerfires like Glocks. The manual will generally specify when dry firing is safe.
@jeffreybell70153 жыл бұрын
Besides the usual "snap caps", there are laser cartridges that you can chamber and they will shoot a brief laser beam when the firing pin strikes the center of the cartridge. I have these from 45 ACP and for 380 ACP. They seem to work really well.

I think Lenny's draw would be safer if his support hand wasn't downrange of the muzzle in the moment when the pistol is rotated toward the target. If his support hand actually touched his shirt on the draw then it would come to the grip from behind the muzzle.
@jeffreybell70153 жыл бұрын
Great comment! See my comment, as well. I also point out ano9ther safety concern that I think is important.
@jeffreybell70153 жыл бұрын
Overall, I found this video to be very helpful. I am not an expert with handguns, not by any means. Obviously, this instructor is. That said, I do have 1 safety concern that jumped out at me while watching this video: When Mr. Magill goes to demonstrate the laser at first, he aims the gun at his support hand and pulls the trigger. That seems like a terrible thing to do and seems to be encouraging a very unsafe habit. Instead, why not aim the gun in a safe direction, namely at a target and demonstrate the laser that way.

I looked on glockstore.com and the ultimate dry fire practice kit, the reset trigger kit are not on the website and the magic bullet ammo is for real guns and cost way over 100 dollars and the laser targets are 100 dollars a piece not including shipping. You could just buy a full metal construction gas operated blow back system airsoft Glock or full metal construction gas operated blow back system bb pistol and practice with that. That's what I do and when I go to the range my shooting is spot on and all I do is set up a competition shooting obstacle course in the back yard and that's how a practice.

pull the slide back as if you were to take the slide out to clean it but not to much, about a 1/4 back, fold a piece of paper about 5 times into a small square, jam it between the ejector and the slide and that's it. You won't have to rack the slide back every single time reset the trigger. I own a glock 26 that's what I do. I think theres a video here on youtube...

The more time that you spend feeling, and handling your gun, the better you will become. It's like a kid wanting to learn ball handling skills. He doesn't have to go outside and shoot basketball every day, to become a good ball handler. Watching gun videos is great, and very beneficial. But, it WILL NOT make you a good gun handler. Period. It's just like any other activity in life. You only get out of it, what you're willing to put into it. Practice, practice, practice.

Thats great and this guy knows what hes talking about but unfortunately the two by far most important things when using a gun for self deffense is exacly what isnt helped by these training tools.1.people usauly miss because they flinch before the big explosion recoil and noise which makes u jerk the trigger,flinch so on.2.is people shooting EVEN WITH LIVE FIRE AT A RANGE are not beyond pumped full of adrenaline with tunnel vision and laying down with out hearing protection in a dark place at a moving target being shot back at so on.not thats theres anyway to train for that but my dad would make me stay up for a long time and right before the range give me a caffine tablet and put my laptop next to the target so if i miss its a huge deal.he said im gonna be the man of the house full of women and he was right and i dont think pf him as insane anymore.
