The Glock Factory Gen5 Extended Slide Stop Lever provides a larger surface area that allows the shooter to maintain a better grip when releasing the slide at increased speeds. The Extended Slide Stop makes it easier to lock the slide back and to release it forward. An easier way to pull that pin out at the 7:40 mark. Is to just push up on the slide release like you're engaging it to catch the slide. Found this out by mistake when I was trying to maneuver around with 2 punches like in the video lol. Makes the process a lot easier! It works removing and putting it back in.

Used the Dremel to cut off the left side of the lever - now I don't have to worry about slide lock failure because of my support hand pressing up against the lever! I just use my trigger finger to manipulate the lever when locking to the rear. Thanks for the tip Lenny!

Outstanding educational video. I appreciate your emphasis on safety (yes, accidental discharges happen) and am adopting your "keep ammo separate" suggestion. Following your videos, I replaced the factory slide stops with Glock extended slide stops (ordered from you) on my Gen4 and Gen5 G19s. The process was easy when I wiggled the slide stops to find that sweet spot you speak of. It took me less than two minutes per firearm - and I am not a handy man.

I just did this to my G22 gen 5. I didn't use the punch to push down on the slide release. I just moved the slide release up with my thumb like I do regularly to lock the slide back and pushed down on the pin. Came right out. Thanks for the info though.

Almost every video I watch from you’ you mention the safety speech on ammo in the area working on guns etc. It sounds monotonous but,! Necessary! You can never be too safe when it comes to firearms safety. And repeated warnings are appreciated.

I’ve grown up around guns as long as I can remember. Even during 14 years of military service I’ve never had a negligent discharge of a firearm. I will be buying the Extended Gen 5 parts kit in OD green for my Glock 19x. I also want their tungsten guide rod, slide cover and mag release but Glock store doesn’t make it in OD Green.

I got one of the silver ones of these and it’s a godsend for my G19 Gen5. The second you guys had it on your site I got it and I LOVE IT. Much better than the vickers tactical Gen 5 slide stop as you won’t accidentally lock the slide back like you can with the vickers.

Take the pin half out before taking out the slide and you don't even need a punch or to shake the release i use a wood tooth pick and installed the gold pin kit by pushing the new pins against the old ones

Omgosh that is so true. I've been shooting at my range for 15 years and I had a accidental discharge at the range. I was point at the rubber dummy to clear the firearm and boom. I was like wtf am I doing!

Thank you for this video! I just got a new Gen 5 Glock 19 and noticed that I am missing the tiny spring in the Slide Stop Lever! My gun will lock to the rear with a loaded magazine when fired due to the slide lock popping up during recoil!

So Lenny, you don’t need to use the second punch and go all difficult to get it in the “sweet spot” just hold the slide release up and the same result happens. Saves time and effort just did it in my lap with one punch

The slide stop "pivots" on the front where the pin is. When you manipulate it, the pressure is still on the front at the pin. That is why you have to press down on the front, in front of the pin to relive the pressure. Hope this helps.

I had this exact thing happen. I went to pull the trigger to release the slide from the frame and bang. Straight through my 50 inch Samsung qled 4k TV LOL. I used to think the no ammo in the room rule was stupid. I was wrong.

I ordered one kit for my 43x. The extended slide stop lever won't lock, but when I took it your extended lever out and put factory slide part back in with all your pins it's locked fine. Don't know what's going on with your extended slide stop lever.

I never could understand the use of a METAL Punch to push out and in Glock pins. Metal on Metal scratches. Notice when he reinserts pin looks like scratches. I use a large chop stick pointed end, works great. Personally I hardly ever lock the slide back maybe even for cleaning or inspection but if I do. I just insert a empty mag and pull slide back, drop the mag if need be.
