With no intention or interest in comparison, what is nice about playing the original before the cover is that we get to see the interpretation of the cover singer and the changes they do to make the song their own and boy, did Putri do an amazing job with that. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, Putri is a Monster, a sweet and gentle one, like the one in Beauty and the Beast, when performing live. She has the audience at the palm of her hands with her commanding stage presence despite not seeing them. I am glad that you rightfully gave due credit to the Band, they were awesome, world class band.

Much like our host, it wasn't from a musical genre I appreciated when it was fresh. After listening today, I jumped down to the link in your description and opened that up,then chased down the original official release it linked to. Weird, I remembered it as stronger and more compelling. Maybe I'm remembering a different performance or a cover, who knows? All that aside, I give it to Putri's take when faced with the head to head. I think that's mostly due to the mismatch between what I heard today and what's stuck in my memory: an unfair way to judge an artist because who knows what sort of junk is stored between my ears.
