95% of women/girls have been accosted and 65% of us have been subject to even worse. This even happened to my Grandma back in 1931, when she was only 12... walking home from school by a farm field on a dirt road... but she didn't tell anyone until she was in her 90s, shortly before she passed. 😭

@@LittleBlueOwl318 How awful for her. In those days and even now women feel so much shame, they blame themselves like they brought it on themselves by how they dressed, how they acted, but they did nothing wrong. I'm sorry your grandma had to bear this all alone all those years.

@@alondralabute2310 Thank you. It shows that nothing has changed in over a century, but at least we can talk about it more freely nowadays. We can raise our sons to evolve and be better than the men of the past. Or at least we can try.

How hard for Edith to hear this, and for Gloria to tell it. It's a good thing she was able to get away, as Edith did years later. I think all of us have had some experience in sexual harassment or attempted rape, or even actual rape. I was once sexually harassed by a coworker, he told me if I didn't give in he'd tell the boss something bad about me and get me fired. I had no self esteem in those days, I only knew I didn't want to be fired and pounding pavement looking for a job again. I lost several nights sleep worrying about it, then decided to give in but when the time came I couldn't go through with it. I told him to go ahead and have me fired but he tried to have his way anyway and I managed to get away. Then more sleepless nights worrying about when the boss would call me into the office to give me my walking papers. It never happened though, this azzhat had been full of it and I had put myself through that for nothing.
