These Thai fighters that came to Glory, have retired from Muay Thai fighting. They make great money training fighters after about 150 fights. Except Saenchai who has 303 wins and only 41 losses. They are stadium champions who fight very often in 5 round grueling clench fighting with lethal elbows and knees - They come over to Glory and it's like Heaven. With 3 rounds and very limited clenching - they have the cardio and they don't fight emotionally. Also they are about flow, while some others jump all over the place and are just too hyped up to take damage as the fight progresses True martial arts, and it's kind of beautiful to watch

Sittichai looks so good with glory rules best Thai I've seen since buakaw at kb rules
@turkeymk8 жыл бұрын
Jauncey looked incredible in the semis, and Sittichai just made him look bad. That left leg is just brutal - he's throwing hard high kicks from almost any range including chest-to-chest, and slips to avoid shots even when Jauncey seemed to have good openings.
As someone who trains in Muay Thai and is gonna be a Glory Champion one day, this video is very encouraging to me and reassures me that Thai Boxing can transition greatly to kickboxing....on a side note im also starting to get rubbed the wrong way by the arrogance of american Thai fighters...
@DannyZucko218 жыл бұрын
For me it's been mostly amateur muay thai fighters or low tier mma guys who train in muay thai who come off the most arrogant
@DannyZucko218 жыл бұрын
***** You're certainly right about "jock mentality" being more prevalent nowadays, especially when it comes to Americans...but I must admit also that there are many Americans who are preserving and still care for the "old ways" of martial arts

***** That's a sweet plan. I personally don't cut weight but I wish you the best of luck with yours especially since how I've heard that they can be a pain the ass. Hopefully we'll both achieve our goals :)

I feel really bad for Josh.. I wince every single time Sittichai throws his monster kicks. Jauncey's reaction to shot at 13:26. Damn!!

Love watching these Thai fighters in Glory. Seems like Jauncey could've used a lot more inside low kicks to slow down Sittichais kick.

Thai compared to westerners really have less punching power and combos. Many glory kickboxers were former boxers. The thais spend ALOT of time smashing thai pads. Kicking the pads half the time. It's ok to admit thais have less punching power and boxing combos. Their kicks more than make up for it.
@prasg11865 жыл бұрын
@Leverage Machine I think what it is, is that most Thais fight in lighter divisions where statistically there is lesser KOs via punches for obvious reasons.. most thai fighters in western organizations are also at the top of the heap constantly facing Top/skilled competition. Not to mention, alot of them usually fight above their weightclass, or their opponents - under, depending on ones stance on weight-cutting.. anyways, in most scenarios, it appears to me that the thai guy is much smaller come fight night though they weighed in the same the day before & this is quite the factor when it comes to punches.. much less for kicks when it comes to KOs.

Sittichai when entering the ring refused to go in-between the ropes .. its disrespectful to do that in thailand
@tuchesampho20477 жыл бұрын
no its not its disrespectful to go threw the ropes in muaythai a muaythai fighter goes over the ropes as sitiitchai did in this fight
@xwut16 жыл бұрын
In Thai culture, head is important, not to use hands on one head, and not let your head down unnecessary . Put your hands on one head is impolite.
@dacoup59558 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but glory is really making a big deal out of a seriously small cut.. first i don't even understand the rules applied to glory, only one knee exchange, no elbows .. Traditional Muay Thai fights are a lot better in my opinion, clinches, knee's and elbows.. Josh here looks frantic, you can tell with Sittichai that he's controlled and relaxed .. Sitsongpeenong is a great gym and has made waves in the sport of Muay Thai
Wtf? I thought glinch were allowed maximum 5 sec, but why do the reffere stop them immediatel?
@415ofaloto8 жыл бұрын
yotsa thopwong very true. I think it's allowed but highly discouraged as the refs are typically controlling the flow of the fight. really depends on the ref and whether they feel the clinching is flowing easily back to kickboxing or creating too much stagnation.

the buakaw of our age, but for glory.
@dacoup59558 жыл бұрын
+Pineda Jose You do know that there are like thousands of better nak muay fighters coming out of thailand who don't carry the name buakaw..
@echosun5628 жыл бұрын
+ThatFcking Reese yes there are, but none are as legendary as buakaw. Maybe I jumped the gun with Sititchai being as good as buakaw but still what buakaw did is legendary man. Goes to k1 wins it twice, has beaten foreign fighters, fought the best dutch, japanese, and chinese kickboxers. Has won a shitload of fight tournaments and won most. We cant ignore what he has done, even if hes not the same as he used to be.

How can you expect to win against a thai, relying mainly on punches? Not a front kick to counter , rarely a roundhouse ...
@denizisi84016 жыл бұрын
Alessandro he would Break his shin to hell if he tries to Kick
These commentators really underestimate the hands the thai fighters. Thai fighters don't have weak hands, lol. 41 out of 46 muay thai champions are have won belts in boxing.
