I was raised in the Assemblies of God all my life and I still attend an A/G church. I am no stranger to seeing miracles and other spiritual occurrences happen. But, I believe that a lot of Pentecostals/Charismatics are hung up on "signs and wonders" when they should be seeking the One who can perform those signs and wonders. I'd rather have daily obedience to God in a humble way than seeking to see and/or do signs and wonders. Reaching out to someone in need in my daily life(praying for someone and letting them know that God cares and I care about them and their soul, assisting with health or financial or food etc...)and showing Christ in that way is more genuine than anything. Signs and wonders are secondary to any of that. 1. Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. 2. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Christians need to stop, rethink and go back to basics. Jesus didn't win followers by doing grandiose things. He showed love in the most practical ways- then, people saw how amazing He was.

Jesus is the Son of God (fully God), but also fully human. He didn't look like God but was God. Look with eyes of faith not human reason. It wasn't falling it was rising from nowhere. I was there. It only happened during worship. This was a true miracle. I understand people's skepticism but I was there and can assure you it was real. Glitter doesn't appear from nowhere and rise up in the air. Try the experiment at your house and see if you can duplicate it. You can't.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO a friend and I were having a conversation on how powerful God was and it was like 1 in the morning or maybe even later and and something caught my attention in the air and for a moment I thought they were dots in the air. And everything went silent there but I knew my friend was still talking and I interrupt him and say, “Do you see that?” He says no and I touched his shoulder lightly and looked up and said “do you see it now!!?” And he said yes and I’m at first I thought he was messing with me and it fell with such glory and what I loved it’s that both him and I knew exactly where Jesus was standing in the room. Cuz I felt this sting physical sense on my left arm and I look over and there’s a punch of silver dust right there more than any place in the room. Amazing I never will forget that day. I was suppose to go to a 15 party and I don’t really go to those but I was going to go anyways and than I heard there was a youth service at a church and that’s when my brother in Christ (my friend) took me and his family we all went together

I once had a dramatic encounter with God when he pulled me out of a church similar to this. I had been seeking his truth alone as I felt it wasn’t right and I was a hypocrite in my “walk”. It was one of the most powerful, fearful experiences I have ever had. I was literally shaking in fear as I dropped to my knees and laid prostrate as God revealed the truth of the lie I had been involved in and of the world. It felt like physical black scales falling from my eyes. I repented with weeping and saw the true gospel for the first time....;even though I thought I had been a Christian for 16 odd years) and wholeheartedly believed in the finished work on the cross and promised God I would serve him for the rest of my life.

I don't know if this is from God or not. (I wasn't there.) But I wonder how many people have stopped and thought this before commenting: "I wonder if my comment might unwittingly blaspheme the Holy Spirit by calling something that He did a trick of the devil." (See Matthew 12:24, 31-32.) I guarantee that the pharisees were convinced in their hearts that the signs and wonders of Jesus were falsehoods from Satan. Again, I am not saying that this glory cloud phenomenon is legit or not, I'm just saying to exercise wisdom and caution before passing judgment. Many people have carelessly committed the eternal sin by making flippant comments. Like Esau, they have despised their birthright by putting their cravings at the forefront of their priority list (Hebrews 12:6). Wouldn't it be better and wiser just to keep our mouths shut? If Bethel Redding's "purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God." (Acts 5:38-39)

If you have not experienced this in a church service then I'm sorry. But I in fact can say that this has happen many times in services I have been apart of. An know for a fact that it wasn't "Hobby Lobby glitter " it was the presence of God in the room. This present was so strong in some services that we couldn't stand up. If you call me a liar then you call my Family a liar. I saw it first hand. It was beautiful! So many people were set free in those services! It's biblical. With all love and respect, The Glory of God has never been described as golden glitter, lets go through a little bit of Exodus. In Exodus 19:16 the "Glory Cloud" is described on Mount Sinai: "16 On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled.:" Now continuing in Exodus(chp. 32-33), after Moses comes down with the 10 commandments and finds the Iseralites worshiping a false idol and God sends a plague down to repay them for their disobedience (Ex 32), Moses intercedes for God's people and then he asks to see God's glory (Exodus 33:18). God then replies that (v. 19-20) He will have all his goodness pass before Moses, "20 But,” He said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” In observing this video, there is no thunder, nor lightnening, no huge cloud making everyone tremble at the very sight of God's magnificent glory. Just gold glitter. Even if this "Glory Cloud" was truly the Glory of God, everyone would have died as we read in Exodus 33. When looking at "proclaimed" miracles, bibilical believers must allign all things with scripture, since 2 Timothy 3:16 charges us that "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." The aim of my charge is love, and it is my duty to point out that this "Glory Cloud" is no where close to scripture, but rather another "golden calf," sadly misleading people into worshiping an idol, and mocking the very name and glory that God deserves. If we "limit our knowledge" and look past scripture, we are basing our relationship with God on feelings rather then truth. If we take your ideology on God, that implies we should just throw out the bible. throughout scripture that you consider is infalliable and truth, it says we need to consiently check if our doctrine and beliefs are scriptural (1 Timothy 4:16)therefore putting major importance on scripture that it is the infaliable word of God. If we establish that the scripture is true, than when Paul tells the church of Corinth to not add onto what is written (1 coritnthians 4:6) we must obey that, if not we will be heritics, hypocrites, and puffed up liars like those in Corinth. In Hebrews 13:8, we are told that Jesus is the same always, so if these "miracles" and "wonders" dont line up with the word of God, it is false, since all scripture is true (2 Timothy 3:16) and we cannot add onto it (Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32, Proverbs 30:5-6, 1 corithians 4:6). God strictly warns us that if we add or take away any of the words in the bible, he will take away our share in eternal life with him (Revelation 22:18-19).

I didn't know this stopped happening until I was watching a show with Pastor Bill about this phenomenon. I was actually there on one of the nights this had happened, it might be the night they took this footage. It was strange because when I saw it, I wasn't overpowered with awe, but was just thinking, wow, this is really happening. The cloud seemed to come and go out of nowhere, and the night I saw it, there were also feathers falling from the out of nowhere, I guess, and ending up on the chairs. I grabbed one, but gave it away when I realized I would most likely loose it. I feel so blessed to have seen this, praise God.

@@its_justJohn Well, I do think it was from God, even though I wasn't overcome with emotions. Maybe Holy Spirit wanted me to soberly evaluate what I was seeing. I've never been the type that falls out in the glory, though I have had that experience a few times, and each time was the best feeling I've ever had, by far. But there were never any visible manifestation in those times, and there was no overwhelming emotional experience when I saw this visual manifestation. I suppose God can do whatever He wants, and I do understand thinking critically about over the top things like the glory. So consider that when the cloud was with the Israelites, they were not overcome with emotions either, at least most of the time.

So as I look at the American Christian Church from a distance I am realizing that if most of the church is calling something heresy then I should probably run towards it. After reading the comments here it really just reinforced that Bethel and others like them may be in to something good if all the main stream religious people are hating on them.

I leave this comment not as an argument, but as a plea. I have been traveling back and forth to underdeveloped countries in Central America over the past three years. Its been my experience that the American Church (I'm American) in large does know God deeply but not at the depths we should and thus are always looking for Him to do the next big "parting of the Red See". While these other countries get it because if they don't rely on God to supply their needs they literally won't have anything

Im confused on why people are getting upset at this church. It has done amazing things for the city of Redding and for the world in over 46 different counties this year alone. Things happen that no one can understand or explain, thats life. Be happy and blessed that this church has been doing so many things for the world, not upset that their are weird things that they claim happen. Gladiator suggested the possibility of hidden fans or heat to suspend the particles so I looked into that. What I found was a strong Bernoulli effect from the horizontal vents causing an "eddy". Then I tested ultra fine glitter and found that to "float" required substantially more air current than is available at Bethel. I also discovered that glitter is VERY irritating to the eyes. When Bill announced the particles tested as glitter, I announced it to the KZbin world. I did not hide anything.

I don't know about this pastor particularly, I suspect some use the trick. But the same happened to my hands in a little charismatic church in Ukraine during the worshipping, and some other people's hands. Older leaders had oil on hands. When I saw this golden dust on my hands, my hands started to shake from shock and God's heavy power. We rent the building it's a very simple building used also by other organizations, without any equipment in the ceiling, and we weren't covered by dust only our arms were. I filmed my hands and this dust didn't go away for several days even after washing the clothes by hands and so on. Hallelujah

OK, VERY INTERESTED IN HEARING PEOPLE'S OPINIONS ON THIS: I was very skeptical about this whole Glory cloud business and to me on camera it doesn't look like anything special. At the same time, the little bit I know of the Bible tells me that blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is something which God cannot forgive, therefore I wouldn't dare deny the Holy Spirit if this is actually His work. But here's where I am a bit confused and I don't quite know what to believe: Bill Johnson will always, always mention the name of Jesus and continuously praise him, how can a demon show up? 1 John 4:1 says: "By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist..." So how can a demon come when every Christian in the room is constantly confessing the name of Christ as their Lord and inviting the Holy Spirit? Can demons/ demonic clouds just break through barriers of holy praise to the Most High? One thing is for sure, the CLOUD itself should not be worshipped because I think that would be idolatry. The same way the worship music itself should not be worshipped, but our hearts should constantly be on the Father. The problem with youtube is that people can see the video and just see some gold glitter without feeling God's presence, whereas everyone in the room felt God's presence immensely (according to the comments from the people who were there). I think the main thing is, we honestly don't know all of the ways in which the manifestation of the Holy Spirit can occur, and God can choose to manipulate atoms and molecules to however he sees fit, so I can't discount this. I just can't believe that a demonic cloud can break through praise and worship and manifest into a room full of Jesus worshippers. What are you guys' thoughts?

From these passages it should be clear that false prophets/teachers might be able to perform miraculous signs (and some might even look very real indeed), and no doubt these people will (appear to) hold the name of Jesus in the highest regard. Yet, in Jesus' own words, "I never knew you". So if you aren't able to believe that a demonic cloud can break through praise and worship and manifest into a room full of Jesus worshippers, then Matt 24:24 is of great relevance.

Being skeptical about whether or not a cloud of dust is "God's presence" is NOT blashpemy against the Holy Spirit. If you're worried about that sin, then you're probably not really in danger of committing it. As for the question about demons, remember, there is a third option. The psychology of the human brain is an amazing thing. Look up the placebo effect. Look up non-spiritual techniques that (fake) psychics use, like cold reading. It is also possible that this is just dust, and that they are interpreting it as the glory of God, without it being either God sending the dust, or demonic deception. Honestly the simplest explanation is that it's just dust...

My thoughts? This is weird and I don't understand it. But, I don't reject it. There was a time that I would have and did. Here's what changed me. When I read John, and study the signs that John focuses on, and read what Jesus said, specifically in John 6, but really all over, I see something that at that time struck deep dread into me, and though I didn't ask for it specifically, led me on a journey of understanding that I didn't expect. Jesus healed on the Sabbath. He broke religious law. He said things like food doesn't make you unclean that were contrary to religious law. At every turn, He did stuff that were contrary to the culture and were not normal for a religious teacher to do. The Pharisees discussed this and were perplexed at whether He could be from God because of these things He did that were contrary to the law. And then, in John 6 He says some really crazy stuff. Stuff that is implicitly and EXPLICITLY against the Law of Moses, i.e. that His followers must eat His flesh and drink His blood. Now we read that and blow it by because we know He didn't really mean that...or something. But those people didn't! How is it that He is going to tell them that not only must they be cannibals, but they also must drink blood, something forbidden in the Law of Moses!? When I put these things together, I realized, that if I had been living back then, I would have for sure condemned Jesus, just as the Pharisees did. I would have used the bombastic things He said, and the fact that some things weren't quite right to me as the test for whether He was from God or not. That thought scared me. And God used it to impart grace and began to change my mindset. The thing is, Jesus told us and them what his witnesses were: John the Baptist, the Father Himself, His teaching, His miracles, Himself, and the Scriptures. (Jn 5) And the Pharisees knew the Scriptures word for word, yet didn't see the author when He was literally standing in front of their face. Now you tell me, who's really deceived? What a scary thought! The story of the healed blind man in Jn 9 is helpful because they were going through this very debacle. And in it is this: I don't know whether this man (Jesus) is a sinner or not. But what I do know is this: I was blind, and now I see. Then God showed me verses about discernment. Ones like Lk6: 37-45, Mt7:15-20, Mt 12:22-42, 1 Cor 12:1-3, 2 Peter 2 and the like. The recurring thread through them is that things are judged by their fruit. Fruit is simply what their product is. If it is a ministry, are people receiving life (jn 17:2,3)? If it is a person, is who they are characterized by the Fruit of the Spirit? That one is sometimes hard to see because people tend to put on airs. But if you will pay attention, you will be able to see. All who ask receive, all who seek find. There are many in the comments who mean well, and think they have the truth and spout it out. They don't mean to harm, and espouse to know Him, but in many of their rants, they do everything but love. Have compassion on them, I was one of them. And there are others who are full of pride, condescending slanderers, whose mouths drip with contempt and ooze hate and superiority over others with every word they write. Pray for them and avoid them. People here often quote Scripture about there being a great deception and demons using signs and wonders to deceive, and how there will be many who say Lord didn't we do great things in your name. I'm not completely sure on the interpretation of that verse specifically, but I know that those who quote this use it to make an argument that Jesus specifically countered in Mt 12! I think that if Jesus specifically countered that argument (that demons can do great things in the name of the Lord), I tend to think that they interpret the Lord, Lord verse in Mt 7 incorrectly. The truth is that Satan is a deceiver. His works are not real, they are counterfeit. That means they only LOOK like the real thing, but aren't. Satan doesn't have power to really heal, and really raise the dead, and he doesn't really cast out his own demons who he sent. He only appears to. The beast in Revelation that appears to have a mortal wound...only APPEARS to have a mortal wound, but it actually doesn't. The great deception is an end-times thing, and Jesus says that it would deceive the elect, if it were possible...meaning, it isn't possible. The miracles that Jesus did, yes were an expression of His love for us, but they also served as a sign that He was sent from God. Miracles still do that. Jesus was sent to bring people to God. Are the places and people we see claiming to do miracles doing that as well? That is the fruit we should inspect. Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice, and follow Him. They RUN from a stranger because they do not know that stranger's voice. We can trust that the Lord is able to keep us from being deceived, if we will do one thing: know Him. Bank people, tellers I guess, learn to tell counterfeit bills, not by studying the counterfeits, but by studying the genuine article. When they know the genuine, they can tell when a bill is a fake or not. When you know the Real Jesus, not just about Him, you will be able to tell a fake, and run from it. The Scriptures speak of Jesus! They were meant to lead us to Him, not just build our knowledge of Him! Know Him, and you will never be deceived, and you will never need to fear being deceived. So, is this cloud "real"? I don't know. I tend to think that it is most likely just dust. But I don't have to know. Whether this is genuine or not is irrelevant. Why? Because I know Jesus. The god Bill Johnson and Bethel Church profess to serve and worship is the same God I serve and worship. So whether or not this is real has no bearing on whether his ministry and his teaching is valid or not. And that's what the real issue is. Mt 12:27, And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. They didn't want their kingdom to change. They deemed Him under the power of demons so they could rule discredit His ministry and teaching, because God wasn't their lord, they were. Jesus challenged that. They killed Him. What will you do? Is He Lord?

in most churches there is little faith, little praying for the sick and few healings. At Bethel they have designated a room for focused prayer for the sick. Some are healed right away, some find that by being in the room as people are being prayed over that they are gradually getting healed...partly by the prayers of others and partly by the Spirit of healing that flows through that place. It would be wonderful if every church had such a thing going on.

I was there. It definitely was not glitter. There was no visible source. It would appear as though it was rising from the floor but there was nothing on the floor. It would only happen during worship. I understand people's skepticism... honestly if I hadn't been there I would not have believed it but I can assure you it's 100% genuine. However your bible void of the presence and Holy Spirit is just words and wise scriptures on a page, not the living love that flows from the inner sanctuary of your heart. I love the explanation for the glory cloud given by Bill Johnson, roughly quoted he said a child in the service was asked by someone skeptical of the miracle and the kid said, "Well if its from Jesus, Worship God!......and if its from the devil, worship God!" I think the point is we always are to have are eyes on him regardless of whatever is going on in the natural, miraculous or not, and if we have our eyes fixed on Jesus, whatever manifestation happens to us it will ultimately draw us closer to Him. Imagine the enemy doing false signs like this, to one whose eyes are fixed on Jesus, it just affirms the greater reality of God's presence among us and his love for us! So God or not it all glorifies the greater reality of His reality and goodness and reign!!

the evidence is actually clear as day, not that you would believe it but ill share regardless. for over a year i was diagnosed with severe arthritis of the kneecaps as im very athletic. i went to a conference and asked someone too pray for me. after a few minutes of severe heat down my left leg i had no arthritic pain. a few weeks later i was in church and was prayed for again. this time there was no heat the pain just subsided. i went too the doctor afterwards and he told me that i was fine.

I believe in the greater things! I'm not going to debate or clamor about the nonsense I may not completely understand. I know that God is good, His glory CAN be evident, that He gives us eyes to SEE in the spiritual realm, and so I won't for a second discredit this or claim it could be "fake", what have you. All this time we spend critiquing other churches, believers, and pastors, and what happens when you find out one day that the hand of God was ALL up in this? Because really, when you are tearing a part His people, you're tearing a part the LORD and what He is capable of: ultimately bringing your faith to a man-kind level of logic. No thank you! at first i did everything you guys were doing, rejecting it saying it wasnt from god, but of satan. untill i litterally was able to witness this glory cloud myself and there was no way it couldve gone "through the vents" because we were outside!... Im just saying God is the almighty who did crazy healings and miracles also made citys and streets of gold! so why wouldnt he simply make a cloud of gold? The things that God does are impossible to fit inside our own box of knowledge.

God has been sending gold, silver and gem dust all over the world. He has been sending gems and oils. On people who are worshiping and serving Him. I have had the gold dust appear on me. I have seen it appear on about 50 people at one meeting. I have (as a volunteer catcher) stood over people and watched it manifest when they did not move and nobody moved near them. The particles could not have been dropped from the ceiling because they were on their cheeks or the nape of the neck.

im not easily decieved at all. also, thats quite an imature thing too say. im old enough to know the difference between trusting in my God whatever the circumstance and having to have all the answers. God completely healed my leg from arthritis, he healed my mother when she was on her death bed, he made my good friends leg which was broken heal within a matter of seconds!! my god is the God of miracles. maybe your just a bit too closed to that or maybe you wish not to believe it, but i do!

The evening of Jan 15 the presence of God could be felt early in the service...long before the cloud came. Jeremy Riddle sang OUR FATHER and it was posted on KZbin. That music still carries the stong presence of God as noted by the comments. The evening of Nov 2 the presence of God grew strong before the cloud showed up. Part of that service is posted (BETHEL WORSHIP AND GLORY CLOUD). And it too still carries the anointing.

Michael Johnson Hey MJ..I don't think you should deny it in my opinion just because the exact thing cannot be found in scripture. You can't put God in a box. There is many miracles that happened i'm sure that wasn't recorded in the bible. What you are doing right now is the same attitude the Jews had towards Jesus because he didn't fit there view of the messiah in the Old Testament perfectly. Do you deny that Jesus is the messiah because he didn't match up perfectly with the old testament? Also, for your second point..It is likely God can control when people fall or not in his presence. There is also times when you don't fall down you just feel at peace of overwhelmed during manifestations.

Matt Lord Hi there friend, Jesus did match up perfectly with the Old Testament but not the Jewish view of the Old Testament prophecy. The problem was, they wanted a Messiah to do their bidding ie rid them of their enemies and re-establish their nation. It is actually dangerous to NOT judge according to the Scripture. That's where discernment comes in. We need to be careful we don't seek signs and wonders but rather the Lord Himself. Just keep in mind that no man in a pulpit is beyond questioning and seek the Lord about whether this particular pastor is legitimate. I don't think this "glory cloud" is from God. I could be wrong because I am a fallible human, but so is Bill Johnson, and he may be leading people astray. I personally believe the signs and wonders seekers in the church are being set up by the anti-Christ who will come with lying signs and wonders to deceive many. So just be careful. I don't write off anyone in this church, there are surely many sincere and wonderful Christians in it, but Christians are sometimes the most easily deceived about spiritual things. Remember we are to be wise as serpents but innocent as doves. God bless you in Christ.

People generations ago thought they were in the end times and were wrong, but I really do think it is getting close. The end time prophecies are getting closer and closer to being fulfilled. The reason I think the Glory Cloud is from God or Jesus is because people are getting healed by it, and it happens after worship mostly..It even happens in private in homes. (You can find the video on KZbin) Could this be the "Anti-Christ" trying to deceive christians? Possibly but i'm kinda doubting it. What I almost know for sure is that it is real, and it is strange. I doubt it is glitter from the air vents it seems legitemently supernatural which is awesome.

Possibly signs and wonders from both God and Satan will increase, so we may need to be careful to distinguish which is which. Let's hope and pray that Christians are not deceived and Praise the Lord for all the good work he is doing on earth. If I am wrong about this phenomenon then may the Lord show me. I would just like to say that 18 months ago, I remember saying, "yeah yeah yeah..... they're putting glitter in the air ducts... what a blasphemous joke", and then this kinda stuff (and so much more) started showing up in my life. This is REAL. You can't really be convinced unless you have a childlike posture before God or you experience it yourself. When feathers started materializing mid-air all over my house, my church, and friends' houses, I took notice. When "glitter" (glory dust!) started showing up on my hands (and one time my feet), I was baffled and awestruck. I've seen it cover the pages of a bible, gemstones show up, honey materialize on the keys of a keyboard during a worship service, and on and on. To God be all the glory. He can do WHATEVER HE WANTS. Be careful what you call false.

Sister the same happened with my hands in charismatic church in Ukraine, and some other people's hands. Older leaders had oil on hands. When I saw this golden dust on my hands, my hands started to shake from shock and God's heavy power. I filmed my hands and this dust didn't go away for several days even after washing the clothes and so on. Hallelujah

Even if this is "God" Bethel is known for signs and wonders. There was a story of a Bethel group hiking and one person injured himself on the trail. The severe injury was bad and needed hospital care. They didn't call the hospital, but went on to pray over him to be healed. He died.

Reuben Raya My condolences for the family and friends of that person. That the person is probably dancing in heaven. I do, however admire the faith exerted of believers in that circumstance. Perhaps a different bethel group would have called an ambulance but either way, we cannot define miracles by our worldly understanding of what is right to a man.
