Glory Days of Surf Fishing Island Beach State Park 1992-1998

This is a collection of videos by Bob Popovics of Popfleyes LLC. productions. Bob was a pioneer in the capturing of "MUST SEE" events that occurred in Island Beach State Park and the surrounding areas on the surf and in the bays in Ocean County. Before there were cell phone cams, and mini cams for that matter, Bob was taking vids on super 8 and VHS. This collection includes some awesome blitz action and the famous "Whale" video feeding just yards from the beach.

This video never gets old. My body is a different story. Believe it or not I've seen about 35 miles of this once/twice on the Outer Banks in late November 1983. 15 pound Bluefish and Speckle Trout everywhere just pull over and instant hookups all day all tides . Guys where filling up full sized pickup trucks with fish. God gave us a beautiful planet. Its sad we messed it up. Peace

overfishing = fewer fish = fewer blitzes Maybe if people didn't feel the need to keep every single thing they catch, events like this would be much more common

How about the environmental issues such as medical waste, oil spills, and offshore trash dumping. How about changes in fish migrations, tides, currents, food supply and global warming. It's not just overfishing. Those appear to be bluefish and I don't know of many people that eat bluefish in large quantity.

BTW, I saw just one occasion where the guy with the Ford Bronco II took fish, everyone else threw them back. If anyone is overfishing, it's the commercial guys, not these sport fisherman.
