i love how they talk about how "dirt poor" Petch was... roflmao every thai fighter grew up dirt poor. You dont fight 200 times when you got money.
@JoseAlvarez-dl3hm3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is insanely annoying. It seems that once poor you are tagged for it forever in your life with no chance of escaping it since there is going to be always someone who reminds you that you were once poor
@unknownentity82563 жыл бұрын
Who gives a fuck. He made it, all the more reason to be proud to make it in life. And there is thai fighters that grew up from families of champions that are not poor and they start fighting at age 7. It's just normal in Thailand, every day of the week there is fights. Thats just not possible anywhere else in the world.

@theKashConnoisseur5 жыл бұрын
@@milesy2k7 Right, and it's like the 3rd thing you learn in wresting and the 110th thing you learn about boxing infighting. It was a masterful use of the technique in this bout though. Petch used it to good effect whenever RVR walked through his round kicks or after the teep kick was parried.
@theKashConnoisseur5 жыл бұрын
@Memento Mori while I'm sure there are videos on it, I don't know of any off the top. It's a move you see a LOT when it comes to infighting though. You want to get overhooks on the biceps on your opponent and use them to deflect the direction and energy of punches from close range. The overhooks allow you to free your arms for offense or defense depending on your opponent's reactions.
@dre_withwithout4 жыл бұрын
@Memento Mori just think to always keep your elbows close to you and your hands looking to grip their biceps so they do not snake an underhook or break off and slug you

Word of advice for Robin, If you can't beat them.. join them.. should go train in thailand and learn their ways then he'd learn how to better defend against their style, and even learn some better offensive skills aside from his one dimensional punching style.

Petch should go fight in Asian promotion against guy like Kaew Fairtex , Qui , 5 plus great Japanese champions . In his weight class in Glory no one can beat him and i don't know if he can make weight for lightweight ( wish he could , he probably can dethrone Sittichai and beat Marat ) ... or he can go fight in MMA like Sittichai once suggested/thought of after beating Josh Jauncey in the rematch .
@Ogsagaexceedfan5 жыл бұрын
He just start fighting outside from Thailand ,fight in glory it good for him on now to keep some money,K-1 in japan it no good at all. Japanese fighter should come to fight in glory rule it the best way for Thai fighter to not get rob again and again in japan. And in china it have Buakaw and Sitthichai on now ,it not time for him to go that.
@meesert5 жыл бұрын
He would need atleast a year of grappling training to compete in MMA. Fighters that don't know any wrestling have basicly no chance these days.
@8limbedwarriornakmuay1755 жыл бұрын
mesert Well , in Israel Adesanya case he began fighting in MMA in 2012 and was in the UFC in roughly 2018 and at present is the current 6th ranked /fighter in the division with many believing he would soon become champion dethroning the winner of Whitaker/Gastelum , while most would say he needed 6 years just to get the UFC it must be noted that his pre-UFC MMA career was more of a past time than an actual career as he was fighting for the GLORY Kickboxing belt against a dominant champion and almost beat him twice as well as fighting in Both Boxing and Muay Thai ... that's ridiculously impressive to say the least . When you see that many Nak Muay/striker in the past have done well in MMA it is not that far stretchered to say that Petchpanamrung could one day become an MMA Champion as he would be the most talented striker who has ever cross over to MMA and with a good wrestling/MMA coach he would not only dominate but would make it look easy just as Israel Adesanya , Connor Mcgregor , Anderson Silva , Jose Also , Max Holloway and Holly Holm once did .

Van Roosmalen does not seem more motivated than that. I wonder if he really wanted to win this fight. Who said winning said defend the belt. I know that he is preparing his conversion mma for three years already. He made two fights in 2017 won by Ko and he recently signed at Bellator. He is a good kickboxer, a good judoka, surely a good wrestler but knowing his power, he will not go beyond a blue belt of BJJ

A lot of people say he won't do well in MMA since his style is heavily based on the high-guard (wich is not recommended due to takedowns and small gloves), I wonder how he will perform since you say he has good judo and wrestling.
