was hard to watch after the knock down, but I understand the ref didn't stop to give Boapeh the chance to lose only on points and not by KO. But he didn't actively defend himself and any decision by the ref would be ok

I guess he knew it was close on the score cards even with the knock down but I didn't see the point in Boapeh taking more damage. Protect the fighters.

I had a feeling this was going to happen to boapeah after his last fight . When he called out the number 1 contender after his debut . He looks good but has some concerning issues that need to be addressed . When he misses kicks and sometimes punches he’s extremely off balanced for a pro fighter level meaning hes wasting alot of energy on those misses . I said right after his first fight if his opponent and stuck moving to the sides and not backing up 100 percent of the time forcing boapeah to miss more often and not hit his guard he would tire and open up . Sergej stuck with this tactic and by third round it really started to pay off . My other concerning issue is that its not that he has a weak jaw necessarily but when he gets tired which will happen since he puts about 85-90 percent in borderline all his punches he will wobble and get dazed easily his ability to absorb punches will drop drastically that happened in his debut in the 3rd round but his opponent was unable to do anything with it but this guy who has had alot more experience was able to capitalize on it ( really this fight should have ended via tko ). I always tell people when fighting in novice divisions of boxing . New fighters love to bull rush to try and get a knockout / look tough and more advanced then they really are . They don’t understand how hard it is to knockout someone in amateur boxing so they will tire in round 1-2 just weather the storm and youll win . Boapeah has the makings to be a world champ but if he doesnt fix some of his glaring issues hes gonna keep running into fights where he fall’s just short . Either way hes a fighter to watch amazing fight from both men .

Boapeah is popular talent in the dutch circuit, very talented but hes relying to much on his strength and just leans into his punches to much instead of making his punches snap. I had the idea that Braun was meant to lose in order to build Boapeah's name in glory, i was soo happy for Sergej when he showed what he's made of!
