Is it just me or is the interview super condescending? She’s doing exactly what Emily is always talking about...women who claim “not to be a beauty person....etc I haven’t bought makeup in 15 years.” Really? So you don’t take any care in your appearance? Just because you don’t wear makeup doesn’t mean you have zero interest in personal care. Emily is always challenging that thought. She trying to allow women to stop feeling like caring about personal beauty and care is something vain or vapid. That’s what Glossier is about...taking control and pride in your beauty choices, whatever they may be. Also I feel like she wasn’t even listening to what Emily was saying. Her follows up questions just seemed so condescending to me. Her attempts at humor came off as arrogance.

Yeah the interviewer seemed a little condescending. Although she might of been trying to be self deprecating. Anyway I really like Emily as a person and think she's really interesting and intelligent and transparent.

I think she's just being honest; I first heard of Kara when she interviewed Kim Kardashian at a big tech conference a few years ago and, in such a male-dominated space, really advocated for the legitimacy of "feminine" tech products, like Kim's game and app etc. I became a fan of her for that interview so I took this as her just being like "i'm not going to be asking questions about product specifics cos i'm no expert"

The great thing about Kara is that she tends not to care what shitty people think of her.

This interviewer is so patronising and clueless. Beauty is a billion dollar opp that is getting bigger by the minute- wake up. There is nothing superficial or shallow about understanding or marketing it- Kara seems to be missing the point big time.

Same with the Alexandra Shulman interview with Emily. It felt so dry and the interviewer's energy was giving disinterested/devil's advocate for no reason.

People, don’t focus on the interviewer. I find the interviewer so condescending or nonchalant or just she just wants to be the topic. Just don’t like her attitude somehow. But don’t focus on her; focus on Weiss. Kara tried hard too much to steal the thunder

Same with the Alexandra Shulman interview with Emily. It feels like these boomer age (yt) women interviewers worked so hard to 'humble' Weiss and take an obvious stance against beauty and it's so weird. Weiss is a wealth of business knowledge. There are plenty of fun, interesting interviewers who could add so much more enthusiasm.

I'm starting to plan how I'm going to create my company and I'm for sure following her advice. Glossier is an example of what companies should start doing right now in order to appeal to this generation.
