Glossier You Perfume Review | In-Depth

Hi all! I'm really excited to share this perfume review with you. I'm not the savviest when it comes to perfumes but I needed to try this perfume out because I was so curious of the scent, seeing all the reviews and hype about it online was what did it for me. The folks at Glossier really know how to get their marketing right!
This was a "blind buy" a term used in the fragrance world which means I bought this without trying any samples beforehand and I've never smelled it before purchasing! Glossier does not have any physical stores in my area to be able to test it out, so this was definitely an experiment.
I HIGHLY reccomend going to Sephora and smelling JULIET HAS A GUN - Not a Perfume. Major dupe for this.

Update: Hi everyone! Thanks for all of your lovely comments sharing what your thoughts are on the scent, I love reading your comments! ☺ Today I was finally able to go to a local mall with restrictions lifted and found the BESTTT DUPE for "Glossier YOU" is hands down: "Juliet Has a Gun - Not a Perfume" It's almost identical, and available at Sephora. I highly reccomend you checking that out first to truly know what You smells like. The resemblance was shocking! I smelled the Body Shop - White Musk and do NOT think it's a similar scent. I made this video during lockdown so I could only share what I read online about potential dupes from forums. I hope this helps!! Any questions let me know :)

I don’t have Glossier You but I do own Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume so I’m glad you consider this a dupe! I also picked up Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar which I’ve heard is a dupe too? Too me it’s nothing like JHAG.. I think I just love Ambrette / Ambroxen Seed♥️I would love to hear more perfume reviews !!

Yesss!! Juliet Has a Gun scent is sooo similar. I swear I couldn't even tell the difference between the two! You won't even need to get the glossier scent then, since you own Juliette already! ☺ The clean reserve scent sounds absolutely heavenly. I'll have to give it a sniff next time I'm at the mall. Love hearing about how it smells on everyone else! The descriptions are so different and it is fun to read how it wears on others because I believe it is truly unique. On me, it starts out very spicy and peppery on top, like a warm, salty, and spicy but slightly sweet smell. After about 15-20 minutes though it is all musk and ambergris on me. I love the dry down! One thing I noticed is that almost everyone has very nostalgic descriptions of it, and I am no exception. For me, it smells like my mom when she used to wear some Victoria's Secret perfume but like at the end of the day when it has faded away and she just got done doing the dishes with piping hot water and the scent has mixed with a very clean, mineral dish soap smell. Like wet, warm skin that has a slightly sweet and comforting smell. I love it!

It smells like a fruity candy on me with a hint of salt and musk that balances it. Like a gourmet candy story by the beach. I absolutely LOVE this fragrance and I get lots of compliments. Also the lasting power is so impressive and does 10x better than some high end fragrances I own. And It’s so cool to read how it smells so different on everyone, I feel like it can definitely be a signature sent without you smelling like everyone else.

The cool thing about Glossier stores- you can go to the store, test ANY of their products (without being harassed), leave and test the wear throughout the day, and then decide if you want to go back and buy it

I truly love this scent. It stays on my skin for over 10 hours changing but the fresh note lives all day long on me. I cannot tell you the amount of compliments I have gotten wearing this fragrance. I have several Narciso Rodriguez perfumes and on me this one is totally different from them, given that this is absolutely a personal take. I also love Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume and Not a Perfume Superdose to me these three beauties are in the same family. Love your review, muy elegante.

It reminds me of old book paper. My bf gave me glossier you for valentines day and it totally reminds me of him, I love it. It smells like spicy paper from a vintage book.

Oh yes it smells just like this on me, too. Before they first launched it I tried a sample and it smelled much warmer, fresher, and sweeter, I miss that vibe! For some reason all I smell now is the old book paper, if I smell it at all… I wear it too much.

I've used this for so long, I can't even smell it on myself anymore! I do remember the dry down once it warmed up to my skin being very addictive though haha.

I tried it when i was in London and absolutely fell in love. This is the firs parfume i ever bought. On me it smells like a floral gummy bear. It was out of stock when I first tried it but now it is back and I can’t wait to receive it in the mail💗💗

It’s so unique, and I absolutely love it! It smells like musk on me at first, and then it dies down into an amber/caramel smell with my chemistry. It lingers and when its on my clothes during laundry day, I smell my clothes and it’s still on it! On my 2nd bottle all ready.

Body shop white musk was my scent for years. It's not as musky as it sounds. It's basically a fresh floral without any of that bubble gum pink gourmand, or the warmth and spiciness of vanilla. Think of fresh gardenias. If you don't like that scent, and that strong white floral with musk undertones you might not like White Musk. It has a decent staying power and fades nicely, with a very light siage. If you want something lighter, crisper, and in that price range, American Eagle sometimes has similar scents. They had a scent in 2012 called 'Me' (ironically since the glossier scent is called 'You'..) that had some pineapple and mandarin replacing the musk, but keeping the white florals. I wish they'd bring it back! Also, the Gap's So Pink will always be the ultimate bright and fresh pink grapefruit scent. And for the high end version, think linen & mandarin, I believe it's called Fresh by Moschino is a classic but doesn't have great staying power.

That's amazing that White Musk was your signature scent! You'd love Glossier than 💕. That American eagle one if it was available sounds up my alley. So many suggestions I love it! Moschino sounds incredible, the short staying power would drive me nuts to reapply, but you bet I'll still go sample it! This perfume smells like a cream on me it smells like pencil shavings at first but slowly turns into creamy soft dreamy, I can describe it as angelic ✨

Your have such a pretty glow - goals I’m not sure I could achieve. The first thing I smell is strong pepper - almost overwhelming - didn’t like it at all, BUT it’s growing on me. The way you describe it sounds perfect. Your voice is soothing. My daughter wants something clean and not too powerful - she likes Daisy but the Ralph Lauren sounds good since you have similar tastes in smell.

When I sprayed the samples and tried it in store it was so sweet and flirty and long-lasting, but when I had the bottle shipped (not just once, but twice, because I decided to give it another chance 😅) it smelled like colored pencil shavings, or wet cardboard... almost as if it expired?? I'm guessing the shipping & cold exposure had an effect 😭

omg love your video! ✨ I actually recently purchased the Glossier You perfume and it was really underwhelming 😔 I really wanted to love it and was hoping it’d become my holy grail perfume. For me it opens with a leather/cowhide note, and then dries down to a floral leather mixed with a hint of musk. It definitely smells like the pages of a magazine, but with a slightly more cowhide scent. It also smells really similar to a library or a flea market. If you’ve ever smelled Le Labo Santal 33, it smells _reeeeally_ similar to Glossier You. Basically Glossier You is just a less intense version of that fragrance LOL.

I thought I was the only one think it smells like leather shoes in the opening 😂but once it dries down it smells really clean fresh with hint of floral and powdery scent on my skin. Can’t stop sniffing my wrist, it really lasts 6+ plus hours on me. Love the review video and reading comments ❤

OUTSTANDING REVIEW, Wow!!! I like feminine powdery fresh fragrances. I don't even know what musk smells like. I LOVE Philosophy's AMAZING GRACE, but it doesn't last. I don't care for soapy scents, and that is sometimes confused with "fresh" scents. Your review was probably the BEST one I've ever seen for any fragrance. The way you explained the fragrance was hugely helpful!

I like their Narciso Rodriguez for her EDT and the EDP but I don't like the white Musk from Body Shop I like their black musk fragrance so do you think that I would like the glossier you? And I'm curious to know what are your thoughts on the Narciso do you like it? But if I do, I'll definitely msg here to let you know. The Glossier perfume is unisex too so it has a hint of masculinity to it. In your opinion is the black musk at body shop more floral or masculine?

@@jujusweet5957 you should also check out the Juliette Has a Gun - "Not a Perfume" scent, I've heard many ppl claim that is a dupe for Glossier, and the original Chloé perfume is similar too. Check those out! My signature scent will always be Ralph by Ralph Lauren. I hope that helps! 🥰💕

I finally got to go to the mall today at my local mall and I do not think white Musk body shop smells like YOU, the one scent that is HANDS DOWNS the best dupe for YOU is Juliet Has a Gun - Not a Perfume. It is sooo similar, it can be the same scent. I just smelled it at Sephora and I cannot get over how similar they are!!

@@wendyraye yup this perfume highly depends on someone’s body chemistry. This smells more on the masculine side on me- the pink pepper pops through on my skin and the musk smells really nice. I don’t get sweetness at all from it in fact it smells very clean.

I am totally anosmic to this, Acca Kappa White Musk, JHAG NAP and Diptyque Fleur de Peau. I cannot smell molecule fragrances and plain musk.

Interesting! From where I live we've only just started opening up, I need to go in stores to smell it Narc in person. This was just a recommendation that was very commonly suggested in tons of online forums I read as a dupe for You 🙂

Narciso Rodriguez For Her is NOT A DUPE. It debuted in 2003. Glossier as a company wasn’t even founded until 2014. So the dupe would be the other way around. You can say similar but the respect to For Her should be given. 👍🏼
