I like this game. It looks good, I like the culture, and I love how this is basically a game version of Journey to the West. If no one knows what it is, look it up, it is very interesting and influential to a lot of things. There were a few things I didn't like about the game, mainly the dialogue. It just sounds so lazy on certain things, like when the kid introduced the baby, it repeats her baby noise, that's kinda annoying. Another thing is that they left a few things unanswered, like what happened to An An and the general pig guy at the ending? Other than those things, I still like it. P. S. Funny thing, while watching this, it played ads for this game like three times!

I enjoyed the movie and the game looks pretty fun but it doesn't seem like sun wukong connected with the kid that much to warrant the whole tearjerker moment and "bring him back and I'll (blank) for you" moment at the end. Edit: also that intro kind of lowballed this for me cause how cool would it have been if it took place during sun wukong declaring the war against the Chinese gods like a whole asura's wrath kind of game.

For those who don't know why Sun Wukong is reffered to as "Dasheng" a lot of times in the story, that name means "great sage", which is one of the titles that Sun Wukong has. I assume that people call him like that as a sign of respect.

When I first started watching I thought it was a childish version of the Sun Wukong story, but after getting to the end I realized that game a really well made. Sure it was still dimmed down for a younger audience, but a great game nonetheless. Also quite nostalgic of games I played as a kid.

Thank you for another cutscene movie, Gamer's Little Playground!😊 Now, about the story itself...I feel like the biggest issue that I have with it is how they handled the main character of Sun Wukong, and it is mainly shown through the writing decision of having Liuer and Zhu Bajie engage in much more dialogue between each other than what Sun Wukong has with any of them. Unlike Link from The Legend of Zelda series, Wukong isn't a silent character, and from all I red and saw about him from the general media, he also isn't someone who would WANT to be silent around others. Here though...they just made him very silent and mellow for most of the time, and it feels off for his character. I get that he is upset for being imprisoned for 500 years, but I feel like he should still talk more. If you ask me, Zhu Bajie should not have been included in this game at all, and instead, the focus should've been only about the relationship between Sun Wukong and Liuer. While I don't really like the general character of Zhu Bajie that much, my criticism about his appearance in this game is more because I feel he is taking conversation time that I believe that Wukong should've had with Liuer, and many times when Bajie was talking, I was thinking "why isn't Wukong talking more as well? Isn't the whole point of the story to make him bond with the kid?" I actually do agree with one of the comments that I red here, that says that, spoilers, when Liuer seems to have perished in the final battle with Hundun, Wukong's anguished reaction to this dosen't feel as earned as what could happened if he had more conversations with Liuer in the game's events that led up to this point. If anything, Zhu Bajie has more emotional connection with the kid, because they actually spent a lot ot time talking with each other. Now, I am aware that this game is actually based on the animated movie with the same name, and I hadn't seen it yet. I do hope that it will not include all the criticism that I mentioned up until now about Wukong's character development, but if it will be the same, then I hope that the cgi movie of "The Monkey King Reborn" will deliver a more accurate portrayal of Sun Wukong- a being that can be angry, arrogant and violent, but one who also learned to be more benevolent despite these traits.

41:46- I feel like this is supposed to be an important character growth moment for Sun Wukong, but I have no idea what some of the dialogue he hears in his head is saying. I can recognize some of the lines that Guanyin told him earlier, but then there's a line of dialogue that I don't think is heard in the game before or after this moment, as I don't recognize the voice that is saying that, and the line said sounds like "I have no doubt that you will be back here again". Who exactly is saying that line? Is it Sun Wukong from the past? Is it some consciousness of the Tri Star Shrine, as Wukong mentioned that "it happened before" when he went back there to train after his first defeat by Hundun? I seriously am baffled by this, and I would appreciate any help with the subject.
