GM 8.5 10 bolt Moser full spool install in my C10

I inspect the damage to my Spartan lunchbox style locker, then remove it and install a Moser full spool in my GM 8.5 10 bolt. I then install a Moser heavy duty aluminum diff cover, and I put a brand new set of M/T Pro Bracket Radial slicks on a set of Basset brand 15x10 wheels, and head to the track.
I cut my fastest 60' time, and fastest 1/8 mile time to date, but on the return road i had the side tank of the radiator blow apart, ending my day at the track.

Nice job n upgrade u make there bro... Im upgrading my 2011 chevy colorado 2.9 to dayly driving and street racing n some drifting on weekends. So i upgrade to posi but not to confident so looking to put a full spool for this differential that is supposed its a gm 10 bolt 30spline but not sure of it is a 8.5 can somebody share or tell the correct specs ???

What kind of HP and TQ you making in that beast? I have a 383 putting 512hp and 501tq at the grank. Would a spartan hold up for me with some occasional burns and light offroadin? (mostly mild trail rides and snow wheelin, literally nothing extreme)

If you have a full spool for a 10/12 bolt gm axle you will need to run c-clip eliminator shafts. I made a video where I installed a set in my axle

Can you run a spool on the street (for everyday use) or does a street car have to be a limited slip, mainly for turning?

On a daily driver, a good limited slip will be fine. Spools will eat tires when turning, so they won’t last long.... not a big deal on a weekend play toy though

No, you need to run c-clip eliminators to run a full spool on a 10 bolt.

Weird question where I tried doing donuts in my 85 442 I’m sure it has the 8.5 as well . It would pop in and out and switch sides once the tires broke loose .

Ha nope. Those are 30 spline Moser shafts. It works great.

@@AllieCatCustoms just trying to help my fellow racer. You're using nitrous and making power improvements. A 30 spline axle is not enough for 4000 pound truck and a plus size driver. (no disrespect) time to step up to a 35 spline friend. Trust me, you don't want to loose an axle during a test run. When it comes to your driveline better to be bullet proof and be able to sleep at night brother...
