Empty hand here looks like Wing Chun. I guess that helps explain why catching on to this stick fighting style was pretty easy for me.

Does Balintawak escrima include panantukan dirty boxing? Or is it a separate martial arts
@beltonlubas41204 жыл бұрын
As demonstrated it can translate into the empty hand

Thanks for the reply sir

The variation are all dirty as the final hit point is always head, and balintawak doesn't have mainstream tournament as it's really fatal.

I've never seen this fighting style. Is this what the father in the movie Taken was doing? Looks similar.

yes

its the same fighting style, it follows the same movement patern in balintawak. balintawak has no specific weapon of choice. but as long as you know balintawak you can probably use many types of weapon to use.

I spent 15 years in the Marine Corps and got lost in the middle of house full of people they wanted to kill me. If not for Arnis/Wing Chun, I would be dead.

What will happen when guns are no longer used and banned around the world? And military or police use only close combat fight? Anyway who invented guns? I heard it was also related to the history of Philippines that first gun was invented.

Fwiw, I get the FMA principle of applying your training across different kinds of fighting (stick, knife, empty hand), but that blocking a knife with a knife drill is the kind of stuff that gives martial arts a bad name... no bueno, you would not do that in a real self defense scenario.

The bearded man is not attacking him . This looks very rehearsed to me.His right hand is doing nothing .What am I missing here?
@saidmughery3574 жыл бұрын
It is not rehearsed . Under the Balintawak system the instructor is always the feeder . Obviously the students is always on the defensive side. It's all about how he responds to all obstacles thrown against him .
@boyong55774 жыл бұрын
Maybe he reserve to teach that to only pinoy .
@sniperey96964 жыл бұрын
Because it's clear the he's teaching him how to block those strikes.. And to Guro Bobby's side is he's teaching how to disarm under those blocks.. And yes every trainig center has a rehearsed training exercise that's why it's called exercise / routine.. It will gonna be different in a arnis fight. Watch some fights and you will know what im saying.. Remember that those are just routines that they keep doing every training..so you can develop what they called muscle memory, and develop your flexibility and reaction time.
