Farmers should be given incentive for growing crops which use less water, incentive should be there for not burning fires after harvest. Or panchayat should be given equipment to take out sow or grass which farms burn to save diesel or labour. Farmers need support. Big farmers having 10 acres or more land per member should be taxed , maybe at lower rate.

नमस्ते गुरूजी: मान लिजीये किसी गाँव में सब ब्राह्मण लंबे हैं और सब क्षत्रिय नाटे। किसी सलाह-मशवरे से एक ब्राह्मण की त्वचा का एक छोटा टुकड़ा ले कर उसमें से लंबे होने का गुण चुन कर किसी क्षत्रिय के शरीर में लगाया जाता है। कालान्तर में कुछ लंबे बच्चे पैदा होते हैं और अन्त में क्षत्रिय नाटे नहीं रहते हैं। तो इसमें क्याबुराई है? Though ur introduction about importance of farming and contribution of farmers in india was good But u Missed a very important person who single handedly was responsible for making india a grain surplus nation In was Norman bourlogue whose 15 years of breeding program in Mexico produced the seeds which made india self sufficient in wheat in a single stroke the year his seeds were planted in the fields of punjab haryana and Western uttarpradesh we got so much production that we don't had space to store the grains and schools had to be closed Lallantop should employ who know atleast some topics well Now a days it is not difficult to research a topic due to internet I hope u will tell his story some day we should tell his story to people as a singn of gratitude towards him for making us self-sufficient in food from a position of begging for food from USA under PL 480 His story should be part of curriculum in the schools and he should have been awarded bharat ratan for his contribution to the indian nation

जितना मैने सुना है अगर किसान देशी बीज या सकर बीज की बोनी करता है तो कुछ बीज बेच देते है। ओर कुछ बीज को अगली बोनी के लिए बचा लेते है। अब वो gm बीज को अगली बोनी के लिए बचा नही पाएंगे। क्योकि ये बीज फर्टाइल नही होंगे। हर बार बीज बनाने वाली कंपनी से बीज ख़रीदना पड़ेंगे।

Good questions Amit. More than 80% Mustard/Canola oil produced other than India is from GM Mustard/Canola. In India, import of edible oil procured by GM crops is banned but there is no such mechanism at custom ports to detect the difference between GM/non GM if the label would be changed accidentally or deliberately. Even in India, citizens are consuming palm oil mixed heavily in edible oil which is not healthy for humans but due to it's cost effectiveness. In this case, government is thinking to give approval for experimental trials and activists who don't have proper counter points bringing biased opinions only. If Indian government's scientists is working on GM technology, government can release this tech without royalty to producers so seed cost could be affordable like Basmati varieties which can enhance crop yield.
