GM LS Valvespring and Valve Stem Seal Replacement

Changing #Chevy #Valvesprings and Valve Stem Seals today with the tool I made. These are #PACRacing Beehive Series Valve Springs PAC-1219X-16. The stem seals are Fel-Pro SS71039 Valve Stem Seal Set.
This engine is 6.0 GM LQ4 from a 2003 GMC Sierra, it's being swapped into my 1969 Chevy C10 Panel Truck. The C10 is also being converted from manual transmission to a 4l85e Automatic transmission, The c10 has brakes, suspension, hoping to add a big turbo this year and eventually add Air Conditioning.

I don't mind Astrud, contrast to the last album playing, Public Enemy. It's ok tho, they just send a notification saying the music copywrite holder can monetize the vid and I cannot. About 12 hours later they add the song details to the vid description. It doesn't count as a strike, I've been letting the music play lately.

@@GIZZMOTORSPORTS Yeah, I've had that happen on a few of my videos. You just have to accept that if your video goes viral, you won't get any money for it. My Cyclocross video has over 18K views but I get nothing. No biggie.

I don’t get the algorithm. I may take the toda springs off the Honda to measure heights. That’s a workout compared to this Chevy. What springs are you running?

@@GIZZMOTORSPORTS That's a bit of a mystery question.. I have no idea what valvesprings I'm running on the Honda.. There's no reason for me to think they're aftermarket springs other than the fact the previous owner of the ITR engine that I took the head from said it had some 'Takata or Tanaka' springs. I find no information whatsoever on the internet on those brand names. PO says they're basically JUN springs. But again, I see no reason for me to think they're not just stock ITR springs. I've been past 9k rpm with this head numerous times with no signs of float but I'd never push it any more than that.

are you reseating/lapping your valves after this? Built many heads you should always lap the valves when changing the stem seals or guides. The valve alignment will be ever so slightly different causing improper sealing in the combustion chamber.

GIZZMOTORSPORTS • 1 second ago No need in this situation, just doing stem seals. If you are doing guides chances are you are cutting seats vs lapping. But ya, I'm all for doing more than less. I'd rather not have any issues with these builds. Are you swapping stem seals on car?

On a new build if the seats didn’t seal correctly will that cause white smoke and or oil in combustion chamber?

@jimmyramirez8844 the seals or seats? The seals if damaged, yes in chamber but would see blue smoke. Coolant burning would be white smoke. Bad seats would be more serious.

Can I replace LS valve stem seals withiout pulling the heads ?

Yes you can remove the LS valve stem seals like that. Will need some simple tools you can buy even on Amazon. It’s in the video!

What PSI the air compressor needs to be set up in order to supply air into the cylinder the whole time?

You only need a constant 40-50psi
