GM OBD1 Purge Systems - Why all the canister ports? How do these systems work? Discontinued parts?

Yes, the canister is a frequently overlooked and misunderstood device. It's worth a little more attention. Thanks on the shirt & tie. I just happened to be doing this video on a Sunday afternoon.

Thank you so much for making this video! I did not expect it so soon! When you mentioned ported/manifold vacuum and NC/NO vacuum switches, it finally made sense to me. I now understand that the carb bowl vac switch is N/O (allowing vapor into canister when the car is shut off) and manifold vacuum closes it, while the normal purge system is N/C and is activated by ported vacuum when the engine is warm. I have seen 1 or 2 canister rebuild videos, I think I will give it a shot after the summer season. Thank you once again for taking the time to explain it! My wife didn't understand why I jumped up when I saw the thumbnail, until I explained to her that this video was made for me. :-)

Great videos, enjoy the work/effort you put into your presentations. One editing comment, your videos recorded in this room have a fair amount of vocal echo, ight be able to reduce that with a wireless mic &/or some acoustic panels?

Thank you for your feedback. I didn't realize it was that noticeable, but I know there is some. A better mic has been on my to-do list for a while, I've been researching. I'll speed that up. Currently I use a shotgun narrow angle mic on the camera, but I know it could be better.

Nice my 1991 k1500 has idle problems sometimes and sometimes not but when acting funny can give it gas and goes away I’ll put couple EGR silanods on it so idk lol engine and transmission out of 1993 blazer so lots of stuff changed even ecm salvage yard deal lol but every day driver just had moments
