That first game was a masterclass in defeating The Dragon...

На фоне Мамедова, он бы мог выкатить хоть гамбит Морро, хоть славянскую защиту или же английского ежа, все равно бы выйграл)

Should have taken the perp at 12:16 with Bg4-f3-g4, with only 8 sec vs. 1 min 30 and lost badly in the first game that's what I would have done
@pianopro96 жыл бұрын
Would've lost the match though. Might as well go all out!

True, forcing a draw was best considering time pressure

Is it mandatory for a player to keep at least one chess piece in his left hand while he figures out his next move ?

chess brillancie Magnus has never beaten him. Nepo is more talented
@scsaintaiwan5 жыл бұрын
Well you are right, Magnus hasn't beaten Ian yet, but talent turned out less significant than the will to win, just as Alekhine beat Jose Capablanca in 1927, and Capa was known the most talented, the real genius out of all his contemporaries. A player with large potential should fight his way up to the top, but what I see is that Ian seldom takes part in very competitive tournaments, and therefore he never breaks the 2770 barrier, not to mention the 2800, the highest level a player can entrance. He is less ambitious than Magnus, and looks like he enjoys playing chess and gains happiness out of it; in comparison, Magnus strives for every win, he knows he'll have to play to win to remain as a 2800, and this is why Magnus has been the highest rated player for more than 7 years. When Ian loses, he may not care that much like Magnus does, and this marks down the biggest difference between these two. Last, if you are to predict who would win in a 12-game match, whom would you place your money on? The more talented Nepomniachtchi? or the world champion Magnus Carlsen?
@gspcro90475 жыл бұрын
The QueenSweeper 100% agree. Nepo is crazy talented, but he lacks the drive compared to Magnus.
