i quit a year ago. the trick is to throw everything away and remember there's no such thing as 'just one more'. treat it the same way they do alcohol in AA and just swear off for the rest of your life or else you'll go back. that aside congrats on the bike ride and thanks for the video! love to see a fellow englishman stomping players i couldn't hope to even lose gracefully to

Awesome stream! I think what you were trying to articulate about openings (but were in the middle of an intense game so couldn't quite put the words to it) is that so many amateur level players get worried about playing "inferior" openings such as the french or the scandi, etc. They are failing to realize that most of us (like a full 99 percent probably) are never going to be close to good enough to take full advantage of a so-called superior or inferior opening to where it will make any difference in their results. Most of us are still making basic blunders, counting errors, tactical errors, etc. And even in your high level blitz games you see that an inferior opening gambit can still win and get great results. Most of us online play shorter games, we are not playing classical chess anyway!

At 24:15 you had clicked on the pawn and then you clicked on the f4 square, so the pawn moved to f4. I suggest to take away 'click two squares' and only have 'dragg a piece'. Great video though. Thank you Simon.

This old bird was hungry. Hey man continue the physical activity you have to replace the cigarettes and drink with that instead. If you are an alcoholic have to stop entirely if not just cut back slowly and allow a whiskey night cap still every once in awhike. Doesnt feel good at first! Beachbody on demand is awesome online workout programs. I was 250lbs down to 210 now.

i've noticed Simon refer to some moves as "thematic" but i'm not sure what he means by that. anyone?
@sayso21353 жыл бұрын
I'm a little late, but moves are thematic if they're commonly seen ideas, maybe in a certain opening

I play online poker. While coronavirus has enhanced the player pool to include many more bad players than usual, the games are not easy. Are they beatable? Yes, but only for the top 15-20% of players. You don't have to just beat 50% of players to be a "winning" player because the poker site takes a small % of each pot (called "rake"). Can you play and have a few laughs and be entertained and not lose a ton of money if you aren't a studied poker professional? Yes, but you at least have to have some solid fundamentals. Start at the micro stakes (1 cent/2 cent blinds) and see how you do!

Poker is really hard now i know a lot and i can just about compete at 10nl wich is top end of microstakes, you can make good money from poker but not really from cash, you need to play tourneys and you need to get very lucky, tourney players are generally much weaker than cash game players, but theres so much luck i would rather play cash.

COVID is never going to "be over". There will always be "variants". Historically, peasants have been limited in their movements, diet, heating fuel, and ability to own weapons. And the bloodthirsty rulers are making their move to return to those times.
