I thought Cheparinov refused to shake Short's hand once and lost once.

If no one puts there hand out to shake then it is no problem if one player puts his hand out and the other player refuses then the arbiter is called and if they player again refuses to shake their opponents extended hand it is a forfeit. Hope that makes sense :)

Topalov's team accused Kramnik of cheating during their match for the title.

Christian Drechsler Yes, and the accusation ,I think , was illogical ....why would Kramnik use computer assistance, if he can beat a chessprogram like Deep Fritz?
@christiandrechsler31869 жыл бұрын
I don't know if he cheated or not. Supposedly, it was indeed a little strange that Kramnik would leave the stage after every move, when he hadn't acted in this way in previous matches and it's not at all usual behaviour for pro players. On the other hand - Topalov had him dead in game 2 and missed a very simple winning combination; it doesn't make sense that a computer assisted player would ever let himself get so behind. Maybe he threw some games on purpose? I don't know. At any rate - no pro player has any chance against the top engines - the best human player is ranked at 2860, while the engines exceed 3300 and that difference is enormous, especially considering that over 2500 you only win or lose 4 points on average from a match.
