I have the highest respect for nurses. When I was a child I spent a lot of time in the hospital and the nurses were fabulous. I remember them helping me through a tough time. Later, I spent more time in the hospital and was treated with nothing but respect whether a teen or an adult. The greatest time I experienced was as the doctor turned off the machine keeping my father-in-law alive. I couldn't tell who were nurses or family as we all cried and hugged. The nurses wrapped their arms around each of us like they were us.

Good Nurses and CNAs deserve to be acknowledged and spoiled. They work hard and everyday is not easy for them either. I was a CNA in the hospital for years on General Surgery and let me say, I have cried in the breakroom and at home and prayed more than one will ever know for my patients...Love you world of human beings.

This is a nice segment but I feel a bit sorry for Tonya and Jenny’s co-workers who didn’t get personally featured because they weren’t Robin’s caregivers. I love that an insurance company donated $20,000 to a fund supporting extracurricular functions for nursing staff because scientists have long known that providing time and resources to fun and group bonding activities can reduce the level of stress in individuals working in high stress environments. Nurses in any part of a cancer hospital have jobs that meet the definition of “extreme stress.” I wish Ms. Roberts had made a personal match of the corporate $20k given her large salary and the importance the MSK bone marrow unit played in saving her life.

Beside the nurses and doctors there are also other staffs that do the patients personal basic care such as bathing, meals, toilet and whatever else.

Please listen to the video, carefully. Robin, personally came to show appreciation, toward two members of her health care team, that took care of her. One of those women, is a PCT. If you don't know what a PCT does, Google if you care to. In addition, Robin dedicated the 8th floor lounge area, to the , " staff". You most likely won't find an MD, in there, as doctors, residents, interns, have there own areas. Nurses and the rest of the staff, share their areas though.

Robin Roberts I have two grandsons with ALL, Abel is 2 and Jaxx is three, my daughter is a single mom and could use any help she can get,in all areas, do you have any advice, the boys are currently get treatment at a hospital a hour and a half away and she doesn't have a vehicle. No raise, no trip, not even a Amazon gift card for these underpaid and overworked nurses. Wow GMA, you went all out with the money (20k they can’t use for themselves) plaque, and sandwiches. Next time GMA take a collection amongst your overpaid and pampered broadcasters (us normal people call it go fund me) and just give them each a check.

Just like in real life, unfortunately. Nursing staff get a pen or free donut. What nurses and pcts need are PTO and a vacation! They are drained
