If his “closest” friends didn’t know he almost died or that it took him a year to recover, they aren’t friends.
@fjp9

people hide things about themselves all of the time. it doesn’t mean they aren’t friends just because they want to keep something private especially something that makes them embarrassed or feel vulnerable or weak. he could have easily pretended that he was fine via text/email and that isn’t his friends fault.

@@naufrage0 many people don’t want to be seen or known as or talk about their depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, hoarding, miscarriages, fertility issues, eating disorders, erection issues, sex issues, cancer, ms, parkinson’s, alzheimers, addiction issues, sexual assault, etc with friends or family members until they’ve truly accepted it and/or overcome it (for the ones that can be overcome). even if people know their family or friends won’t judge them, sometimes people need time to acknowledge and accept their own “issues” before telling others about them.

You can’t fault him for hiding. I’m not in a shallow industry but I would not show myself to the public. Yes in the world of social media we tend to overshare but I’m not one of those to expose whatever is happening in my life especially with an accident like that.
@jurnee-y

So you are shallow then?? There’s plenty of people with burn injuries who have no issues letting the world see them because they’re comfortable with them self and not ashamed nor care what other people think about

@Vanka I guess. And I do understand keeping things to yourself. I am a pretty private person. It’s just sad he couldn’t/didn’t/wouldn’t want to share something like that with his friends. But everyone is different so I can’t say I blame him. Maybe he will learn to be vulnerable as he gets older, sometimes it’s ok to be vulnerable. and obviously sometimes it’s not.

That's also a way to find out who your real true friends are. How sad it is that if people do have true friends and cannot lean on them for support because. of whatever reason. It doesn't make you weak. That's what true close friends are all about, support, support, love and just being there whenever you need someone to talk to or not. In tough times and/or a tragedy especially.

I became isolated for 2 years because I didn't want anyone staring at my stick! Now thanks to stories like this and like actress Selma Blair, I feel much more confident. P.s. For anyone dealing with a similar situation, UK companies like Cool Crutches & Neo Walk who design beautiful & colourful walking aids can also help with that xx

If you have a fireplace with a glass front NEVER use Windex to clean the glass. Always use the product recommended by the maker of your fireplace or one formulated for fireplace glass. We had the glass explode on the fireplace a rental home we had JUST moved into a few days prior & that's what happened in our case. Whoever cleaned the apartment prior to us moving in used Windex on the glass. It also happened to Country Singer Tracy Lawrence years ago. He was a newlywed & his pregnant wife happened to be near it when the glass exploded. Unfortunately her injuries were so severe the baby didn't survive 😔

'reveal' .. or explain anything to the public .. im sure his clients were notified but not everything needs to be shared on the social media platform. I guess if it helps with his healing by getting love and support, then great.. but I believe we can be vulnerable with our close circle and get that same energy that we want. He is handsome either way and owes us no explanation.. heal.. live ur life.. and blossom.

Who wants to find out the hard way that you have no true friends when life gets tough and you need your friends?

it seems like lots of people in the comments are judging him and his friends. people often keep things to themselves that make them feel vulnerable or weak especially when it comes to traumatic issues or health issues both physical and mental. people can still be close friends even though they don’t always talk or see each other. many people don’t live in the same city, states, or even countries as their good friends and that isn’t a big deal. people can have separate lives from each other and still be close friends. he could have also lied or pretended that he was okay via text, email, facebook, etc, and they wouldn’t have known. stop judging him and them. he is talking about it now and that can still take courage.

Couture is illusion and despite all of us in the human experience knowing we’re flawed, we continue to seek it. There is no such thing as perfection. The moment we truly accept this we are free to express our individuality in the clothes we choose to wear. There is intense pressure to be inconspicuous in France. Perhaps he felt this and didn’t want his image to be tainted somehow by disfigurement He is the figurehead with Balmain so he literally is the embodiment of their brand. Maybe his agent and other higher ups just said “lay low” for a few months. Plus he’s not obligated to share his own very personal private challenge. I’ve worked with burn victims both in the BICU and rehab and home support care. It’s unbelievably painful both physically and emotionally. Pressure is what he wished to remove and as a veteran. RN in USA I think people should be allowed some breathing room at a time like that. Wishing him healing and recovery AT HIS PACE. Everyone heals differently. Taking the time to “lick your wounds” can help a person process without being pressured

I have a gas fireplace and if I don't light it within 3 seconds of turning the gas on then a fireball blast occurs. Also, I learned to not turn the gas all the way up when lighting. Just a light-medium light gas flow to start; adjust after its lit.

I get why he hid. Such a thing would be so traumatic, especially when you're such an attractive person anyways.

Kinda shows you how privacy is handled in France. If this accident happened in the U.S, it most certainly would have leaked some how.

This is why I would only use a wood burning fireplace.

Ah yeah whatever dude. It's your business and nobody else's.... You should have just kept it that way. There's a lot of people in the world with the same injuries. Get well for yourself not for Instagram, Facebook and all the other social sites...
