Thanks! I've only used a Mamba Monster / 2650 before, never had any issues with it. For racing though, I would choose the RX8/T8 from Tekin though. A lot more tunable with Hotwire. I guess the appropriate questions would be which buggy, what kind of track or just bashing.....

I would go with the Mamba Monster. It's a bit easier to set up and pretty much no soldering except for the battery connector. The 2650 will have more top end speed while only on 4s, while the 2200 will have more torque, but will require 5s to match the speed of the 2650

Hi thanks for this review, this R1 is still available to buy now, would you recommend this as of 2019 or should I go for something else? I want a scale looking rock bouncer. Thanks 👍

Did you buy it already? I ordered one and wait for it to arrive in the next few days. Curious if it will be a good or bad choice.

@@danielkonrad1444 Hi Daniel, I've decided to build one from scratch to help me learn at the same time. So far I've purchased the chassis, alloy suspension arms and shock brace. It looks cool and quite well built, only thing I'm thinking of changing are the standard screws as their all philips heads and I don't like that so much. I hope you like yours, are you going upload some footage of it?
@ztwntyn8

It doesn't look heavy enough to hook up sometimes. Or the tires aren't soft enough. Overall, I think it's pretty cool but the buggies with the motor over the axel seem much better balance or weight placement.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
ztwntyn8 Yeah, that's why I ended up with some Pro-Line Chisels in the end on some Titus Beadlocks. Much better traction for the GMade

Right on. I love the look of the GMade. Especially the front shock mounts and framework around that area behind the front wheels. Such a cool looking buggy.

Noticed that the stock tires lack grip on both rocks and loose gravel. Great Vid though.

Yeah, a little bit too hard of a compound. I later tried the Pro-Line Chisels and they're a great upgrade

So how does it hold up till now? I'm torn between this and some axial kit, but I like to differ and go with this ^^ Any breakages? the parts support kinda worries me.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 10 жыл бұрын
The R1 is doing great. The two major downfalls of the kit are the Phillips hardware and how hard it is to work on ( like changing the motor out is a huge task!). It needs minimal upgrades to get it really tough. As for Axial kits, they are great, heavily supported in the aftermarket but do take hundreds of dollars to get them really tough.
@FivosPetroupoli
@FivosPetroupoli 10 жыл бұрын
it's nice to see someone actually supporting it, it's really tiring to hear: better get a wraith or a scx10 and such.. not that I don't like them, I just don't want to go mainstream without a really really really good reason. I'll give this kit a shot :)

Hello, is it possable to modify the stearing radious? or can i buy something to get more turning out of the front end? I am almost certain i will buy one of theese crawlers,i like the red one vs the black model. So which upgrades and all did you finally go with? and one last q.. is it copetition worthy?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 7 жыл бұрын
If you really want to comp...I would say it will not do very well. I would look into an Axial XR10 if you can find one...or maybe a custom chassis. The R1 is a great looking crawler...but far from a comp rig. Steering angle.....there's not much you can do as far as parts.....

Ryan Garrett It's only sold as a kit/roller version only with no electronics. I was running a 35t motor, which is a bit fast for a dedicated crawler. It'll go about walking speed
