Syempre we know the original version: Japanese style, the classic Ichirou Mizuki anime singing, more mature. Huwag masyado padala sa nostalgia, iba ang boses ni Matt, may sarili siyang tunog. And it's a good thing! His voice is young, fit for the message ng kanta na tungkol sa paghahanap ng ama. Good thing he is casted pa as Big Bert singing a song for his lost father Dr. Ned Armstrong :) I mean, Matt did his own mellow rendition. Great job! Pero kung sabihin nating pareho sila ng original, hindi talaga. Same ng kanta, oo tama. Pero kung boses, hindi. AGAIN, my comment is not to bash. I commend this version, absolutely. I did a cover kasi 'mimicking' the style of Ichirou as my artistry and tribute to the original singer and for added nostalgia kaya medyo nasanay na ako sa tunog ng original version. Matt here, did his own beautiful version. Sa mga nasanay sa original like me, masasanay din tayo sa version na ito, just like how I love Julie Ann's rendition of Voltes V no uta, na dati parang na-awkward pa ako, pero ngayon LSS na ako. - I am a single father. I am also a son who lost my father long ago. Hence, Big Bert and Dr. Ned's scene in Voltes V Legacy: Full Episode 54 (July 20, 2023) made this song too emotional for me. I know that many fans did not welcome the musical performance of Matt Alonzo well. But I believe a fan who watched the scene will finally acknowledge why Matt Alonzo was the perfect performer for the song Chichi Wo Motomete. ♪Am I going to cry?
