But apparently police were not using info .if that were so and this was just an incident out of blue the video shows then this would be rough police challenge BUT court shows criminal history of crimes from childhood SO knew wasn't simply a member of society being challenged.
@dmob881
@dmob881 Күн бұрын
@@joprocter4573 As I understand it this was about the car. Not Kaba. They didn't know he was driving it. The police were actively looking for the Audi which was linked to recent shooting. That was the info they had. Armed officers were in unmarked cars in the area where they would be most likely to spot it. Which, of course, they did. They followed it - while getting a decision on what to do and while the other vehicles required to do it were getting in position - a coordinated effort to force the vehicle to stop (in a narrow street) and 'extract' the driver. Kaba knew he was being followed. He called his girlfriend to tell her - so had just as much time to work out what HIS tactics would be.

This officer should have never been charged, but new laws won't change that. He was already protected by law, charges were brought anyway. The law should not be laxened nor tightened, it is what it has been for centuries and its fair for defendants and the protection of the public alike. The law is: (1) honest belief of imminent danger, and (2) reasonable force for the circumstances as honestly believed to be. I do think there is an argument for anonymity but I could also argue against that.

What a credit to the black community you are and I echoe what she said. We are all one community. A community called human kind. We all have the same blood in our veins and breathe the same air. But we all make different choices. He made a choice that night. He made the choice not to stop and follow orders by the armed officers. The officers have to get between that car and the public. That’s their job. Like they did in the London Bridge attack. Like they did at borough market. Like Andrew Harper tried to do the night he tried to arrest suspects for burglary. He approached a vehicle and was then dragged to his death. Very similarly in the circumstance. The car didn’t move a tiny bit. It moved some considerable distance before crashing into the police car. This could’ve dragged any of the police officers with it. There is no let him smash his way out. Where would we stand then if he then made off, failed to stop and crashed and killed a member of public. How would the police look then.

That ex PC Chantelle Lunt, was running her gums off about black people being victimised and making it about race. Fair play to that ex firearms officer. At no point was the topic of race mentioned until she decided to add that, showing her true BLM activist stance, and then trying to be condescending towards the ex-firearms officer by saying that race was significant in the matter all of a sudden. I bet she was a two-bit PC, a complete liability who waved the race card around constantly instead of doing her job. And uses that 'ex PC' title as some form of authority in the matter. What if it had been a black officer who had shot Kaba under the same circumstances? Would she have come out of the woodwork? Of course not.

Every firearms carrying officer in England and Wales has had demonstrated to them what awaits should they pull the trigger, irrespective of the reasons. Grip the rail, go before the lottery of a jury trial, have your own and your families security compromised by the judiciary, have the likes of Kaba’s fellow criminals coming after you with murderous intent, face civil proceedings where your every thought and action over a few seconds of often chaotic events are picked over by a tribunal in an air conditioned office with the advantage of 20/20 hindsight. Face a hostile press unsupported by your senior leadership, unable to challenge the ‘other side’s’ narrative such as choirboy on his way to evensong, his criminal antecedents suppressed to suit a narrative. So, in this scenario which we’ve just actually seen play out before us, who honestly would be a firearms officer?

So frustrating…one police officer who knows what it is like to make a life changing decision on duty; and another who doesn’t. I don’t think race should come into this. We expect the police to act on our behalf and do things, as Tony Long said, that we as the general public are not asked to do. The Police should not be above the law, I agree, but I think they should be afforded some protection for actions made carrying out their duty.

The former female cop was useless with a woeful level of basic policing knowledge around use of force. I suspect her career was short lived and spent inside the station safe next to the station cat. I would love to know how many people she arrested for drugs possession but had thrown the drugs away before she caught up to them. Ergo her argument about being armed at the very moment a round is fired is irrelevant. How can she be sat next to Tony Long. I’ll take his advice having been there ta. She is basically advocating that when criminals try to flee then the police don’t use any force to apprehend them and back off in which case what is the point. Ridiculous and inept.

I have no sympathy for Kaba and his supporters.I wish to make that clear.But I know a great deal about firearms training and worked as an armed government officer and later close quartercombat instructor for this country in the Far East for many years, in fact my whole career.The Met armed response unit has a history of questionable shootings going back as far as the eye can see. In my professional view, their training is of poor quality and inadequate; they also select and train many who should not be allowed out with a loaded weapon on the streets of London.

Thanks Chantelle, well said. It feels to me like the police are so used to, arguably, abusing their powers with impunity that just the thought of them being held to account makes ex- police officers coil. It is right that the police, particularly the Met, who has been found to be corrupt by a parliamentary inquiry, be held accountable for their actions. No one deserves to be above the law they are appointed to uphold.
