Well, to be fair he did interrupt her while she was talking so the finger shushing was warranted.
@Jacob-px4vf

@@robertmcelwaine7024 when he talked for that one minute or so he didn't once personally insult her, when it was her turn she almost immediately turned to unnecessary personal insulting for no reason ( to degrade him obv ) , saying he's not funny. If i suddenly got insulted by a guest who is yet to make a point, id stand up for myself. YES technically he interrupted her but the reason for it is clear and quiet justified in my opinion. And for her to stop his defense by shushing like a pre school teacher is beyond an immature way of acting, she knows she cant defend her insult so she resolves to physical blockage of him talking.

@@Jacob-px4vfShe was stating the fact that there are people who don't find his brand of comedy funny. When you're in the entertainment business you're going to receive criticism. That's the nature of the business. Not to mention the discussion is about whether comedy should be censored. I'm of the opinion it shouldn't, but never the less. Whether or not people find certain types of comedy funny was going to come up. Whether he interrupted Rebecca because he felt insulted or not, is beside the point. She had remained silent and allowed him to talk. I'm sure he would have had every chance to respond to everything she said after she had finished. So yes, I still think her shushing him was warranted and he was not justified in interrupting her. If he did feel insulted, then perhaps he needs to grow a thicker skin or get another job. People in the entertainment industry are always going to have their critics. That's how it is.

NO form of Art should be censured!!!! Art (painting, film, theatre, music) has always and will always have the primary objective of shaping human beings, their consciousness and their souls. Showing the dark side of our nature is essential to this process. And yes all of the woke taboo subjects should be discussed through art precisely so that the audience might understand why racism is bad, why everyone should have equal right,etc. Humans should be shaken, pushed out of their comfort zone, disturbed by what they see in art because that is how we shape ourselves. By confronting issues not hiding them, or censurent them!

@@xvicious5150you don't get it at all. I agree with the writer. And I think that in a society that calls itself sophisticated it speaks for itself that the line should be drawn at fysical violence. Some people are driven by making something they see as beautiful and others throw their anger on canvas. How about the "street-performance-art" in the 60's? We have had that discussion already, thank you very much. You're now trying to invent the wheel again.

There is only one rule in comedy - anything is allowed as long as it's clever and genuinely funny. But if a purpose of a joke is merely controversy without a clever twist, then it becomes offensive to people. Why no one cancels Ricky Gerwais or George Carlin? Because they are FUNNY.

I bet if her parents were watching something as Rebecca as a young child or teenager she would have been saying “you do realise mum that this represents our society in completely the wrong ways and all of this is so very absurd.” And her mum would be like “ooooh yes, that’s nice dear.”
