@@claudiafigueiredo4979 We like protection for workers to have a balance with employers rights, we do not like unions holding swathes of sectors to ransom and increasing costs by blackmail, there must be equilibrium, managers must manage and workers must work and it must not be weighted on one side, the majority do not like Labour, they were lucky that the vote was split by reform, they will not be lucky next time, they will be decimated and not 1 in 10 but 9 in 10!?!

They seem very happy to accept that removing the Winter Fuel Alliwance will lead to an additional 4,000 more deaths and many more cases of hypothermia. If they aren’t stopped soon that will be 20,000 people they have killed off without giving the person or their families a single thought. Tells us all we need to know about the calibre of labour MPs and the remains of their supporters.

Mr. Reynolds worked for MP James Purnell, and the local council, before joining Labour's National Executive. In 2007 he was elected to Tameside Council. He then became assistant to James Purnell again, before being parachuted into a parliamentary seat in 2010. He has precisely no experience of, nor any apparent interest in, the the workings of the private sector. In fact, the ideal man to be Business Secretary. Someone with no knowledge of it.

The co-op high viz is no accident rather a deliberate nod to the Co-operative Party of which he is also a member. It has had an electoral pact with the Labour Party, with the parties agreeing not to stand candidates against each other. Now with 43 Members of Parliament, all of its MPs sit with the Parliamentary Labour Party, this distinction is seldom made. Ps. ask him if he's on speaking terms with Christine Green.

All this will do is stop good small businesses expanding. How many businesses are going to have the employees dictating which way the business is going and what is happening within the business. Yet another cover up blame someone else for sending out invitations I’ve never worked for a company where the person in charge doesn’t have the final say on arrangements for something like that.

@ChristineMurphy-gs2fc Most businesses are small however, the minister claimed that most are operating to a standard above the minimum floor proposed by this Labour Govt. Do you remember the 1990s when the Cons and CBI claimed that the introduction of a minimum wage would be a disaster? I daresay, that advent of State Education and the banning of child labour was greeted with similar dismay in the early 20th Century.

Min wage only affects the lower end of the labour market and encourages investment in time-saving tech, so arguably a net positive. This reduces flexibility across the whole labour market, forcing companies to be more cautious about investment and hiring because it's more difficult to undo a mistake. It also benefits the least productive workers (likeliest to be subject to dismissal) the most, which is both a problem for the co-workers who have to pick up their slack and bad for overall growth.
