I just watched the Rapport vs Nieman game video posted by Levy and clearly what Levy is saying is that Neiman played spectacularly. I don't understand why Neiman has to be offended. If anything, Levy spoke positively about that particular game. It seems to me that Nieman is hypersensitive perhaps to create a bit of controversy and maintain media attention. It is true that Levy says that Neiman played with 100% accuracy, but in any case that was repeating what Neiman himself said. All this is not new, Fischer in his time also created his own media situations. My two cents.

Danny at Chesscom recently went on and on about how they are finally going to get seriously serious about online cheating. This whole discussion, which is absolutely critical, only started because Magnus made his dramatic move and all Ben could do was whine that is impolite to quit a tournament. It was just awful.

Nieman is so sensitive to accusations of cheating that now he sees accusations of cheating everywhere.

People lose their mind when it comes to the percentage. The percentage is based on the engine as it is rated today. In 10 years, when processing power is stronger and an engine rated 400 Elo higher than Stockfish is today is used to review a game, it may see the same game played at a different percentage. Additionally, a human player may make a knowingly play a inferior move to get an opponent out of preparation. Seeing this as a better strategy. Or play towards different tactics which better suits their style. Which they see as being better against the given opponent. When it comes to opinions. Everyone has one, and they tend to be subjective. Given this, to say one person's opinion is good or bad is a poor way to make judgement. As everyone makes mistakes, is wrong from time to time, etc. Better to just let them say/think whatever they want. Life is too short to dwell on opinions.

Levy uses titles like this as clickbait i dont necessarily think it was meant to pick and poke and accuse Hans. (Edit) While I'm not necessarily saying levy is right for continuing the disagreement on Twitter, I think Hans read too much into it. Both are in the wrong for continuing to argue on Twitter but it wouldn't have started had Hans not said he played "perfect" and started the disagreement

I love how I can step away from following chess for a bit knowing that I can come back at any time and there will be delicious drama to enjoy. God tier game for drama lovers.

It was always like this, we internet weirdos just have the ability to accentuate it to extremes. Look at all the WCC recaps Levy has made of past matchups. That Korchnoi/Spassky recap was full of madness. And chess players have always been egotistical, so clashes of ego or displays of pettiness were common too from stories. Capablanca, Rubenstein, Fischer

4:40 the funny thing is that in videos where he says someone plays 100% he specifically says “of course I’m going to put the 100% for click bait purposes” 😂😂😂

I bet Gotham was trying to make fun of him for the "perfect game" claims, probably noticed the other implication too, and figured 2 for 1 on click bait power. If there's one thing we know Gotham's motivated to do, it's make the click bait stronger, and I would be very surprised if anything other than click bait strength made it to the top of his calculus for choosing the title. Like other click bait titles, he knows what he's doing when he makes them.

Ok so I know why the title was called Hans 100 percent, because in his Discord he had a pole of what we can call the title and Hans 100 percent had the most votes on his pole on his title

Personally, click baiting aside, I think Levy was making a joke regarding Niemann’s ego. “I play perfect chess.” Levy: “Pfff, yeah, okay let’s go with that. ‘Niemann Plays 100%.’”

"Insertion is a funny word when you're talking about Hans...." I caught that immediately! I came here after watching a Short where Caruana speculates that up to 50% of Title Tuesday players cheat. It saddens me that the Game is being tarnished by these increasing allegations. However, I did ponder how ingenious it was - if true - that a player and his conspirators had devised a code for passing on engine-recommended moves and transmitted that information via a vibrating appliance the player was willing to have inserted into his rectum. And - if true - I wondered about the lifestyle of an individual willing to sit for a long time on such a device. I've heard it said that computers are destroying the game. I don't believe that's the case - unless cheating has reached the level Caruana estimates it has.

I'm a fan of gotham chess but I'm with Hans on this one. I watched that video and its title did insinuate he'd cheated. Levy was looking at all this like it's just a funny joke but for Hans, it's his life. He's already felt betrayed by the Botez sisters and seeing Levy crack a joke at his expense must have been painfull. Lots of love to Levy, but like I said, I'm with Hans on this.
