Thanks for this guy's, so far today I've serviced 2 sets of Superstar flats, 1 set of Fire Eye and 1 set of Nukeproof, all needed a bit of TLC and are running much smoother :)

I wouldn't apply degreaser on the roller bearing, because as you can't totaly wipe it out, the residual degreaser can destroy the new grease I recommend to use WD-40 instead degreaser... it will clean your roller bearing without mess with the new grease

That's why you leave it to dry afterwards. If you get bored you can even use a heat gun or hair dryer.

@@Nando_ Oh Brazilian? I know beija flor 😂 Brazil or Portugal cos it's the same language. Anyway my skates don't have residue with the cleaner, with the bike I'll use degreaser from the bike store and follow instructions.

First: thank you for instructable and another useful video. I have been riding with my Shimano PD-M324 pedals for some years now (2000-3000km) and I have discovered that they were spinning like "crazy". So I checked the spare part manual and decided to take them appart. And what happened!!! I cannot tighten the bolts back as I need special hex drivers to do that (50euro). I became really dissappointed with Shimano proprietary tools for repair as it is not the first time that I came across such situation with Shimano.
@GiGaSzS
@GiGaSzS 8 жыл бұрын
Phoenix The driver is special as there are 2 in one. The driver is called TL-PD33. The pedals use 2 nuts which should be tightened together (one clockwise and other counterclockwise). I was able to hold the bottom nut with screwdriver and tighten the upper with hex driver, but I am still afraid I have not tightened enought and that one day the pedals will fall off!

Aidan Stewart Depends on the kind of riding you do, most pedal should feel very similar as far clipping in and out. If you ride in dry conditions Shimano pedals are pretty good and last a long while, but if you ride in mud often, I`d go with crank brothers pedals, I had lots of problemas with my shimano pedals getting clogged with mud and not letting me clip in, and had better luck with egg beaters. Candy`s get clogged as well, but the mud around here is horrible and sticks to everything like cement.

+Ben Battista When you feel some play in the pedal or when they don't spin nicely anymore. Depending on your riding conditions you should be able to get years on your bearings without an issue. Don't open them before something is up with them.

Everything functions properly kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZbin. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!
