Going off on this, is there anything like a sender combiner? Like have having two, one in the front and back, and the level averaged out?

Why not just add an Aeromotive in-tank pump/sender sump unit to it, which installs from the top? It'll do the job of feeding fuel to the power-train just the same, and eliminate the need for the surge tank up front when converting to fuel injection. =;)

Something I was just thinking about. The original had 2 tanks with a switch to choose which tank the fuel was pumped from. I Believe the New tank has just 1 fuel line pickup. (maybe center tank?) Would it be possible to install 2 pickups (one front and one rear) so the fuel tank selector could be used to select which end of the tank to draw fuel from? I am thinking about when your driving up or down steep grades (I am looking at you CA HWY 101 with a long 7% grade) or other roads with even steeper grades. IS this possible? or not workable due to the tank design?

I cant believe youre still designing with rubber lines. Who does that these days? Even good rubber doesn't last anymore

I appreciate your thoughts and I here you. The question isn’t what is best but how far to go. Chances are silicone lined rubber will last longer than you and I will care……. So really I’m not worried about that far either. If you feel that need then go for it….. I’m gonna get another beer. Thanks for the support

Beware of what? This is a good solution to a problem that GMC owners at some point will have. We applaud Jim B , Jim K, David L and others who are dedicated to keeping your GMC on the road and reliable. This is not a solution in need of a problem but a solution to a problem.

@@stevenlight5006 - Fair enough…a buyer of a GMC should check to see if the fuel tanks are rusted. In Jim B speak…”What is the 1/2 life a metal tank that is 46 years old? About now.” Anyone buying a GMC should get a history of the coach before buying….checking the fuel filter would give people a good idea that there is rust in the tank. If the fuel lines have not been replaced recently this also be an indication that the fuel system is suspect. The GMC motorhome needs updating from the 1970’s. Replacing the fuel tanks is something we are all going to have to do at some point. I have to steel tanks that are solid today…but I know that this will be something in my future.

@@stevenlight5006 GMC motorhome is still the cheapest to maintain motorhome people will find today. We bought a project in 2019. We are replacing many systems. I am guessing when we are done we will have put in about $40K. From a floor up restoration with reliable and serviceable mechanics…you will not find a better RV. Besides they are cool

@@do.it.better yep... the tanks on mine dont seem to be leaking yet, but the lines... thats another story. I've replaced the ones i can reach, but if i have to bite the bullet and lower the tanks, Id MUCH prefer to replace them with something like this, even if they arent leaking.
