Ash, I just wanted to swing by to say, I had never heard of this game before your review the other night. Even though I play Mork Borg somewhat regularly (and backed several of their KS projects), it eluded me. Your review sounded amazing and I picked the game up based on it. I had never played a solo miniatures game before either, but opt to spend Sunday night stating up some minis I had laying around and playing through the first two scenarios. It was an absolute blast! So many absurd moments and laughs. Thanks for creating this and helping develop me hobby in new ways! Much appreciated man!

Maybe "The Fast" doesn't eat for long periods for some sort of ritual reasons. Evil Beats is obviously a wanting to hear the end of his mix-tape and cares for little else :D This game looks a lot of fun. "... (and likely die)" is a great bit of flavour text. The fact that your leader can move 1" per turn really made me giggle. In the combat rules, I think that "This -3 is negated if another friendly model is also within 1" of the enemy attacker." applies to the target. So, if you attack a lone target, the target is on -3 to hit you back; however, if the target has a friend within 1" of the attacker, the target can hit back without the -3 modifier. I love, "... your warband gets bored." as a finish to a scenario. I'm going to be looking for a copy of these rules are sound even more simple and fun than Rangers of Shadow Deep; mainly because of the random warband generator.

Reminds me of a nineties RPG called Hōl. it has that punk aesthetic about it. Of course, Hōl wasn’t really playable. This looks ... you know ... like you can play it.

@joox73643 жыл бұрын
you've probably figured this out by now but thought i'd mention it. in the combat section where you talk about the counter attack i think you mis-read it. the counter is not cancelled by having a friendly nearby. what happens is the -3 mod to the counterattack is cancelled if the model being attacked is near a teammate. A -> B, b has -3. A->B, C, b has no -3 cuz he's near C

I think you've got that strike back/doubling up mechanic backwards Ash. My reading of it is if you're doubled up on an opponent and he strikes at you, you don't suffer the -3 modifier to your reaction attack. That way everyone is throwing more fists and it encourages you to doubleteam guys in case they survive the encounter and try to poke you in their activation.

Mad up a quick team the other night (used names and titles from both the first book and In The Footsteps of The Mad Wizard). Ended up with a Plague Doctor Magpie The One Most Foul (Medic/Putrid Smell from all the nasty smelling potions and poisons he carries), A caster with scrolls Winter The Keeper of Names (Weak Bodied/What We Do In The Shadows, so she's cursed with a magical vampirism. Scrolls: Not Dead Yet/Ride The Lightning. She can raise the dead, but must feed on the living to survive), Ranger type named Esheg The Deadly (Loner/Slippery When Wet, antisocial ranger who hates most of her own party), Dewey The Backstabber (Slow Learner/Feint & Disarm), Marxillo The Dog (Greasy Hands/Swindler, friend to Dewey and overall slob who never wipes the barbecue rat grease of his bandit hands). I also made up a 6th party member because I felt like it (and can add more in the expansion so why not) Lofgren The Biggest (Angry/Meat Head, so he's twice as big, twice as dumb, and twice as angry). Overall it was really fun to just see what kind of misfit party members you can make up. I'll probably make a whole other team just because. Used some of the new minis Reaper Miniatures has been coming out with for the team (they're pretty nice).

I really like the layout and visual design of the rulebook, I would buy a hardcopy. The game world sounds fun and kooky and the mechanics are pleasingly uncluttered, seems like you'll soon absorb them within a game or two.. which is great when remembering things is a challenge. The generation charts are a hoot. This should be in print, it really should.

This looks really interesting. I always find stuff like DnD and other PnP RPGs hard to process without some kind of miniatures which why I like Tabletop Skirmish/RPG/Wargames because you can visualize what's happening. This reminds me a lot of Diablo in aesthetic though.
