Every sport is a game, but not every game is a sport. Golf is a sport because it's mental and physical. Only way you can argue baseball is a sport and not golf is that in baseball you run.

his swing is nothing like Bustas. Blake is steep as hell and has to time up a flip at the bottom to square the face. Busta lays it off at the top and is overly shallow with a bowed wrist. Two completely different actions.

Shout out to all the KU boys for being on this video with the boys. I have to say that Golf is definitely a sport. Anytime you are having to make an athletic move with the correct rhythm and timing to hit the best shot for the whole has got to be a sport. Not just anyone can be a gofer and advance the ball properly around a course. All sports have different moves that define them, and golf is no different. Another great video, and I will be paying more attention to KU sports, just so I can follow these guys through their time left at school.

It’s a game. No matter what format you play, your only actual opponents are yourself and the golf course. You literally can’t control any outcome, or position yourself to win, you can’t play defense or offense. You can play conservatively or aggressively, but the only thing you can actually do is ATTEMPT to hit good shots and score better than your playing partner(s). It’s either a leisurely activity, or a game. Just because you may take it seriously, working out, stretching, and grinding the practice areas, doesn’t mean that it’s a sport.

Nah. Sport all the way. Swing a club at 110 plus mph, hitting a ball at a 4" hole 5 hundred yards away. Strategy, weather and different course types, also increased physical condition contributes to better performance. Sport without a doubt. Many of the tour pros would have the equivalent athleticism of an NFL qb or a major league pitcher.

Hey Garrett, I was a 3 sport athlete in starter in all. I also Raced Motocross and Supercross. I am 50 now and if I have to walk 18 I get fatigued and my game falls apart in the back 9 when I just get going good. If it's "Round, I can play that SPORT. IT'S A SPORT THROUGH AND THROUGH". I was a three sport athlete in high school and not even on golf team cuz it was uncool in the 80's...and I was still the third best golfer in town and I'm telling you Golf is a sport...... a very, very, very hard sport and actually can beat you down in a lot more ways than a full dynamic sport can.
