Tool is still phenomenal in their own respective right though. Cool has a more diverse discography sound wise i'd say

Early in the beginning, when I got to know my partner, I send him a song of Karnivool and his reply was: reminds me of Tool! So I thought he might be the right one😆 Now, nine years later, I took him to Karnivool the first time and what shall I say? He is addicted now as well🥰

I've been a Tool fan for a long time, really love their music. I've only discovered Karnivool last year and now I love both equally. But I never understood why people compare them, the only thing they have in common is OOL in the name of the band. They both give this psychedelic vibe - a lot of contrast, and build ups. Both are unique bands in my opinion.
