@@korudo1660 Even during my university days (Bachelor phase) I wasn't so sure. I almost wanted to quit during my final years as I struggled study-wise and had some personal issues. Looking back, I am so happy that I didn't give up and still finished my degree just for the sake of it and thinking that I have at least something to start with after getting graduated. Life could be full of surprises because right now I'm having a job where I'm passionate about and continue to struggle as I'm doing my Masters hahaha. 😅 Just go for it, you can still switch from field during or even after your study. Your mindset and willingness will guide you through this journey, good luck!

@korudo1660 I also felt that when i was in 12th grade, it's normal! It's also scary to make this decision. I first thought about what jobs would i never want to do and so i excluded anything to do with science because even though i like it, i wouldn't want to work in hospitals.... Then, i went looking into every major that a few universities have and i wrote down the ones that sounded interesting. After that i looked a bit more into those majors and decided to study translation. However, when we only had 3 days left to apply, i thought that i would regret not learning chinese studies and so i changed the major i chose. All of this to say that you don't have to know from the beginning what you want to do and with time your preferences may change. And all of that is okay!! Wish you the best luck! Hope you find your true passion!😊 Ah also, something that helps is to do the heads or tails game. For example, heads is medicine and tails is veterinary. If you get tails and you're disappointed, then you already know that your heart is choosing to study medicine. Hope this helps!

I just wanted to say it’s okay to not have everything figured out. I would say the time I was in 12th grade I did know what I wanted to study, but I didn’t know if I wanted to go to a community college at first then a 4 year. I went straight to a 4 year, I am now on my 3rd year. A lot of people say you have plenty of time to figure out what you want to do, some say you don’t that life is too short. Those two statements can coexist I believe. In my university, there are people much older than me studying. Therefore, it’s never too late to do what you want to do. That’s great Kongthap, Mudmee, and Half know what they want to do but there’s nothing wrong with Atom not knowing. That doesn’t make him a bad person, or stupid. It’s important to study what you want to, what you are passionate about. You don’t need to work at a job that makes you miserable. Atom deserves to work somewhere he will be fulfilled, and he may not know what that is yet but it’s okay. He can always go to a community college/be undecided, or take a gap year to figure it out. There’s always a lot of stress that is put in these 17-18 year olds, and why?? It’s a scary overwhelming thing. They need guidance, but it’s okay to feel lost. A lot of teenagers go through feeling this way, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Let them enjoy their life first, and if they are in university but if they decide to switch faculties/majors then that’s totally fine too! People do that all the time. It’s because they figure along in their educational journey what they are studying is not something they genuinely interests them or going to make them fulfilled then they can absolutely change their minds if what they want to study. After all it’s their education and life, so for the people that can relate to Atom: Breathe, and take it one day at a time. Baby steps, and I am proud of you 🫶🏼.
