I'm back, and we're discussing:
GMOD ARGS: Who is Gunslingerpro2009?
In this video, I decide to finally go over who is Gunslingerpro2009. A recent ARG channel that's popped up, with a very creepy story. Not only this, but I decided cover BadwaterVideos2009, and update us on Classic GM Videos as well!
As this is my second biggest project on the channel, taking about a few days of constant editing, I would appreciate any feedback/discussion on the video in the comments so I can hear what you think! Not only about this video, but what you may think about the topics.

two noticable mistakes here: 1. the "custom map" in doctor metalhead rises is actually cp_well 2. the reason why badwater and gunslinger both have the same model and physgun is because blue is the default physgun color and kleiner is the default player model.

I feel like Gunslinger and Badwater are actually two different people in my opinion: 1) Gunslinger and Badwater's grammar styles are very different 2) Their animation styles are very different and Badwater's animations are of more quality in terms of style than Gunslinger's. 3) Badwater joined in 2009,while Gunslinger was making videos in 2010,which could be the reason for why Badwater does not know who Gunslinger is. 4) Badwater's favorite class is the Spy while Gunslinger's favorite class is the Engineer. 5) They seem to have a somewhat different attitude,Gunslinger seems more sadistic while Badwater's mutilations seem more like they're means to an end to make his ragdolls work in the scenes he makes.

Idk if this has already been said, but while Gunslinger uses Engineer to represent himself, Badwater's favorite class is said to be the spy. Another thing I wanted to say was that Gunslinger had tortured the blue spy, meanwhile Badwater made the red engineer be the one in the most peril in the melonman series. Course this could just be me over thinking things since not much harm comes to the engineer unlike the spy in Badwater's videos

Part of me thinks gunslinger acts the way he does towards the ragdolls out of a fearful confusion, making sure they do nothing to him by removing them quickly or throwing them away frantically with a physgun. The way he grabbed heavy in the sled video seemed really panicky after a silent motionless reaction, which I take as some minor shock.

My theory for the cyber soldier that was dubbed “a failure.” Is that the prop that looks like the trap propeller engine replacing his legs is supposed to be some sort of thruster. And that his general ability would be to propel himself in a direction with intense speed. Badwater brought that soldier back from hell to turn him into a “rocket man”. And it’s even more cruel when you remember that in the cannon tf2 universe (specifically during the WAR! Update) the Red demoman and the Blu soldier are best friends. And if you think about it, MelonMan is Red while the cyber soldier we see is Blu. This is a bit of a stretch, but if we consider that this is some AU where the ragdolls are in fact the actual tf2 mercs. Then that means that Melonman would have been forced to fight his oldest friend, turned into a flying abomination of flesh and steel. (Assuming that the Red engi is really friends with Melonman and it isn’t just part of the animation)

I think somehow Badwater is stuck in 2009 and is making videos for an audience that lives in 2021. One strong argument that supports this claim is that in his latest video, he mentioned that he loves Portal and L4D and is excited for the release of L4D2 in two months, which also released in 2009.

Something I don't think I have seen people point out is that in Sniper is Book and Sniper is Sentry, the place where the Sniper and Engineer are in respectively are popular spots for sentry building. So the dude knows how to behave like an engineer main too. Edit: the Sniper book isn't in the spot for a sentry but the staircase behind him is a spot for sentries.

Hey Stellar, I don’t know if someone has pointed this out yet, but I believe the reason the text in Badwater’s QnA videos is more “modern” is because it’s the default font in his editor (Sony Vegas Pro 9). I’ve used this editor before, so I actually really liked that detail lol. No hard feelings of course.

One detail I love about gunslingers ARG is that each rag doll has a different way of trying to survive The spy tries to get help by directly contacting us, the viewers, and flees the player, which we all see how that ends. The soldier complies with the player while sending a subtle help message, but chokes out of fear. The heavy tries to get on the players good side, complimenting his work, but breaks character and as such, is carried away to god knows what.

I love this aspect. Becuase not only is it scary and different, but its true. Lets be real this is the basics of what you do in the game. Create fun scenes with your friends. Now of course you dont torture ragdolls. Not that they are normally alive. But its fun to spawn ragdolls and fling them and swing them around. And what do you do when there are too many? I'd like to just point out something. These aren't "ARGs", and are nothing near to an ARG. Those are "alternate reality games" and basically mean that the viewers are the one that help shape the universe. If these were ARGs, then viewers would have a say on what happen in these videos, but they aren't. I usually call these something like "webseries" or something, but if people want to call it what they want, I won't stop them. It's just a weird pet peeve of mine. I have a theory about the sled video: several times and cuts away once it crashes, kind of showing gunslinger pro getting slightly irritated at it not working. It then cuts to him crossing the line and the heavy congratulates him. It’s possible he took the heavy’s words as teasing for his failure to do it without cutting, and that’s why the heavy is punished so severely at the end.

something to note would be as to if the ragdolls can in fact feel pain. if they weren't to feel pain on the same sense of a human, that could probably explain why both creators feel as if they're not doing anything wrong, after all, they do not feel pain the same way they do. right? it's all just a game of fun and to create nice content, right? It’s really interesting to me that both of these ARGmod creators took the stance of making the protagonist the villain. It’s a bold move to make a whole series where every time we see a video we need to try and decide if it’s what the bad guy wants us to see or if we can take it at face value. It’s cool to have a different villain in such a popular genre

I think the mention of Gunslingerpro2009 in the Q and A with Badwatervideos was to dispel the rumor that they're the same person. A sort of way to ensure this to viewers without breaking kayfabe. Ever since Richter's video on gsp, I've overanalyzed these videos *way* too much and have a million and one things to say about each channel that I think will make for some good discussion. In Sniper is Book, the sniper's pupils seem noticeably large and un-focused. This along with the open mouth gives the impression of this being a decapitated head. Ragdoll Walker has a lot of interesting points. At about 15 seconds in, the soldier's full model loads in as he gets close, showing his mouth gaping as if screaming or terrified. At 44 seconds, the spy's head moves on its own, looking up to see what the player is doing. At 2:28, just before the cut, we can hear a sound that almost sounds like a bone cracking. Along with this, if we stop and look at the spy's face, we can see a shocked expression. His right leg appears to bend backwards as this happens, meaning this might be his leg cracking. At 2:39, we see the jeep now toppled over, meaning gsp may have crashed it. At 3:02, the music begins to get distant as the spy gains control of himself and tries to run away. Something you didn't point out in Sniper is Sentry, the sniper-sentry hybrid is tied together with ropes. Might just be me, but when I made this kind of stuff as a kid, I didn't use ropes to hold it down. Ultimate Sled Tutorial has a lot of other interesting bits in it that I haven't really seen anyone mention up to this point. At 1:54, GSP's sled seems to topple over after presumably colliding with the Gman's sled. GSP cuts the video at 1:58 to him being upright again at a different point in the track, checking back on the citizen sled. What we can see at 2:20, though, is the remains of Gman's sled with what looks like a body pooled in blood nearby it. Now, moving onto badwatervideos2009: At 48 seconds in sawmill gameplay, we see the scout's render turn to a reference pose. In The Broken TV, the heavy's eyes track the camera while he shakes his head. Melonman vs the Teethineer is VERY interesting. It's shown the melonman is sentient. This means that despite the process that would have gone into creating him (removing the demoman's head, putting a melon on it, and adding an eye decal,) Melonman seems to function as a sentient being in spite of this. He can also clearly see through what would otherwise be just a decal. This means that modified character models are also sentient and exist as expected in badwatervideos' universe, which implies that teethineer probably isn't just an engineer with a horribly contorted face and Dr. Metalhead probably exists as a functional cyborg as well. One last excellent piece of continuity, Badwatervideos2009 has upload dates FROM 2009, whereas Gunslingerpro2009's videos are circa late 2010, meaning that GSP would probably either not exist or be relatively early by Badwatervideos' time. Oh that and teethineer is apparently canonically non-binary, since Badwatervideos only refers to them with they/them pronouns, whilst referring to Dr Metalhead with male pronouns (specifically "his" when referring to his relation to the teethineer.) One thing you skipped over from the Q&A that actually answers your question / observation is the fact that Badwater uses Sony Vegas Pro 9 to edit his videos. If I'm not mistaken, Badwater would be using the font 'Verdana', a font originally made in 1996 and is pretty much used as the default font in Vegas, all the way up to the modern iterations (for example, I edit my videos on Vegas Pro 18 and it is always the default font choice). This would explain why his text looks modernized, because so many KZbin channels that are just starting out may not change the default font when they are creating text boxes in Vegas. Now I may be wrong, but as I edit in Vegas myself it does seem to be that specific font. I pretty much recognized it from all the times I've created text boxes and that is always the default font that's there, along with example text showing what it looks like. Whether or not Verdana was actually part of Vegas Pro 9 or if Badwater is ACTUALLY editing on 9 is unclear to me. It's also pretty good attention to detail that he specifically says SONY Vegas Pro 9, as Vegas is no longer a Sony product and was sold to MAGIX in 2016.

I think it’s odd that badwatervideos hasn’t used sniper or spy characters. I also noticed that when melonman and engineer are shaking hands, the red engineer smile fades away into a blank expression. I like badwater more because there’s a cool story and with original characters as well, but with gunslingerpro their videos are more subtle and a little more creepier. 42:26 the reason they both use the same kliener playermodel and physgun colour is because those are the default settings, they're what you have when you first install and play gmod also, i don't thing gunslingerpro invented the ragdoll walker, it's possible badwater could have used it without knowing about/being gunslingerpro2009

The worst part about this, is that the ragdoll/npc is essentially immortal. They cannot die permanently and is went through every torture unless the player decided to delete them, removing them from existence.
