Reminds me of a few fics that came into being due to RT lol In those, Akechi never was evil in the first place. The police followed him into Sae's palace rather than him letting them in, he gets angry at Joker for not loving him and for being a greedy psycho, etc. Idk that they ever explain the "people are dying before the story" thing but my headcanon is that he did it out of those simply being his orders
