Technically Tom was right, Sjin was the villain. This is Trouble in _Terrorist_ Town, remember, and the idea is that the "Traitors" are undercover government agents trying to kill the "Innocent" terrorists before they commit some heinous crime.

@@andrewjenkins9965 They're Innocents because the civilian players in Mafia (which this gamemode owes its existence to) were called Innocents and I suppose the creator of the mod wanted to pay homage to the original. It's referenced in a tongue-in-cheek way in the beginning-of-the-round role descriptions at the bottom of the screen ("You are an innocent terrorist...") As for the traitors' choice of weapons, the traitors aren't specifically said to be government agents; they could very well be terrorists from a rival organization or just terrorists who planned a coup on the innocent team's one.
