Creator here! Thank you for playing my map! I understand that there are some plotholes, some unanwsered questions, and a lot of ambigious things left for people to theorize, but this is all the effect of me being new to creating story-driven maps with a cohesive plot. I've had the map in the works for over a year and due to that amount of time in development, the map didn't end up the same way as I envisioned it initially. Nonetheless, i think it came out extremely well. I'm glad you got invested in the story, and i think you'll like what I've got in the works!

Happy you played this map, recently enough I played it myself and it just had this horrible, eerie feeling to it. Like I wasn't alone, or like I was plainly not supposed to be here. It just makes you feel so... isolated. Like you have come here to find this person, like it is a close relative or a friend but come up with nothing but the fear of not being alone.

I'm not entirely sure if that's part of the maps story but the blue symbol at 27:58 is the symbol of the resistance fighters from the game Generation Zero. In it teens fight sentient machines to survive and find out what happened to their home. Those machines kill mercilessly and overtook an entire island.

I played this map yesterday and I felt a good vibe coming from it. It reminds me of my childhood. I spent my entire childhood visiting my grandma who lived in the countryside and the start of the map reminds me of that. An empty road with 2 builidings and just grass for miles. The fog and the time of day are perfect. I can almost fill the chill from the fog. And that music that played on the radio in the outside makes me feel so nostalgic about it too. Such an amazing map.

Hey Librarian, can you explore in VR a very detailed and awesome map called "RP_NYCity Day", it's made by a guy called Fishke, the same guy that made RP_SouthSide, a map that you've already covered. Imo, it is the most well made map ever in Garry's Mod, it gives me such a strange feeling, it makes me nostalgic and also a bit unnerved by the silence there is.. (No, there are no jumpscares on this map) There's also a night version of the map, but i personally prefer the day version, since it is not a colorful sunny day, it's an overcast de-saturated day, which kind of reminds me of Grand Theft Auto IV

The blue custom logo is from generation zero (a game that takes place in 1980's Sweden and you pretty much fight robots.) and the symbol is from some type of rebelion or something like that, and they fight against the robots.

As you went through this one, I started to wonder about a few things. I'll put my thoughts below the jump to avoid spoiling others. ... -Why wasn't the meeting packed up? The projector was still running, with the slides still cycling. Seems like if you're having a top-secret meeting you don't leave it running once everyone's been briefed, even if it is in the most secret part of your facility. Maybe something went wrong during the meeting and the rats jumped ship, so to speak. - that "tying up loose ends" in the presentation in the basement felt pretty ominous to me. Suggested that the people working there were the 'loose ends,' considering they were the ones who still knew the truth even after the company was to be dissolved. If it _was_ mutiny, perhaps it was mutiny in self-defense - the map never specifies what the drones LOOK like. Nobody said they were flying drones as we're accustomed to. Even after the breach incident, it's implied that nobody, not even the government or the local police, has any real idea of what the drones look like. That tells me they blend in. Are they... androids? The presentation says to store mechanical parts (from drone neutralization) _with bones._ - if the drones are androids, and one drone in particular gained sentience, was this Frankenstein's Monster modeled on his creator? Was he the missing man's doppelganger? Like folkloric doppelgangers, did he steal the original's life by pretending to be him? - was the Creature running that meeting, with the original silenced and locked in the back? Did the other nerds mutiny against the final drone unawares after being told they were his loose ends? Or did the nerds also become missing persons? Was that splatter blood, or oil?

@@QuantumWaltz yeah, would've been really cool to see this map get the fleshing out it needed. I don't feel there was enough evidence to suggest one way or the other which while it shouldn't be spelled out, it certainly should've been implied a little more. Not to mention no resolution to the android OR the missing person, other then a kinda rushed note implying he was dead in that room. If the android had him trapped in the room, that to me implies that the other rats would've had to have been killed before escaping, yet no signs. If the android "cleaned up", why would he allows the very obvious note on the floor. Also killing him in that room seems very difficult without leaving visible evidence. There is the maybe bloody floor which I guess could be a single victims, but not the main man since its at the table. Also the signs of living to me implies that hes been living here a lot longer then the suggested few days, and clearly extending past the office room he was trapped in. Was it supposed to imply the "drone" was living here? Even with sentience, surely it wouldn't need to drink or sleep though.

When it comes to things like the flashlight and other lights being way too bright and "blowing out" things as you call it, this is usually caused by one or two things. Go into your graphics settings in GMOD and make sure both Bloom and HDR are both turned off. Without an HDR capable display, that setting will make certain light sources blindingly bright in some places. Bloom in the first source engine also typically tends to be overblown and is better left off.
