Hey, I'm actually the guy that made this map! I randomly stumbled upon this video just now, and man, I gotta say, you made it feel 10x as immersive playing it in vr, and taking a slow quiet approach to it all. Its been years since I made these maps now, but its so cool to see people still play them to this day. Thanks a lot for playing!

@@ethosaur um a guy with a group of friends who is known for many things they first made videos on cod mondern warfare 2 10 years ago they didint get much fame until 2013-2015 when they begain playing gmod also his friends included H2O DELARIOUS terrarizzer and wildcat a few of whitch played on your map i think they also got popular by playing scary maps a few like H2O DELARIOUS also did solo letsplays on games like outlast me personly back then he was one of my favrotes although when he just plays the hardest diffucluty it does get annoying like outlast he even missed a jumpscare because of it and his thumbnails back then were the best but im getting off topic vanoss gaming quickly got a bunch of subcribers while now and days a few of them are in some drama most still hold up to this day top 2 most subscribed are vanoss and delarious whit vanoss having 22 million or more subs while delarious has 13 million or more and that who vanoss if a group of people who have made many happy over the course of 10 years man i feel old

I love these older gmod horror maps. There's something strangely charming about the "Red light with a stalker scream" jumpscares. Maybe it's just how juvenile they are (In a good way). They reflect a simpler time.

Maybe you should give a shot to a physical crowbar addon, you can actually put it on your back, and use it with your left hand with another weapon/object drawn. It was made with VR in mind, I've used it. It's pretty good. Search for "Physical VR Crowbar Prototype" on workshop. And in game do the following: Spawn the crowbar in the weapons list, put it behind your shoulder (left, or right. Whichever you prefer.) Then use another weapon, and use your left hand to pull out a crowbar from your shoulder. Viola, now you can have a melee weapon in the left hand, and your flashlight on the right hand.

4:32 I NEVER SAW THAT BEFORE! I've played this map too many times to count and I never once saw that. O_O 7:55 Funny thing is that it is possible to make the player's flashlight flicker. Recent versions of gm_construct 13 beta has that occur when you're in or near the Dark Room. Honestly, that is a good way of raising tension if you make it seem like the player's primary way of seeing isn't entirely reliable.

@@spinosaurus9518 Sounds like someone hasn't spent a lot of time in the Dark Room of that map. Believe me, one of the effects of that area in the map is making your flashlight flicker.

@@spinosaurus9518 It never happened to you then. I've had my light flicker before. Don't recall if it occurred in any of my recordings of the map, though. Bear in mind that map has a lot of events and effects. Some are rarer than others. However, it is well known that the Dark Room in that map does mess with lights of all kinds.

So, there's a "Shadow Guy Nextbot" on the work shop that works as a passive npc. Doesn't attack, can just be seen at points, and teleports when the player gets too close. I feel like he could add to your explorations.

4:32 actually you say percent chance but in map making people use triggers to turn triggers on so basically you passed that jumpscare trigger but it wasn’t activated yet you passed another trigger after that and that trigger activates the jumpscare trigger and when you enter the now activated jumpscare trigger it… well, triggers the jumpscare. Feel free to use that knowledge when making your own maps!

Librarian: The poison headcrabs will only make your health 1. They cannot kill you, since they rely on other zombies to finish the job. They also emit a loud screech before attacking. Shortly after getting poisoned, you will get all your health back. Those thin things are Fast Headcrabs

If looking for combat-having horror maps, suggestions to be made, I may have commented this already on another video but doesn't hurt to do it again if I have Nyctophobia [puzzle-oriented map which is a bit marred by also being a jumpscare fest in some places with a really obtuse puzzle starting you off, however ends off on a sizable boss battle with multiple phases] Horror Raid [requires its own gamemode called COOP, but be warned that while it has an intriguing concept by itself, the design has insane schizophrenia where sometimes it will be as easy as just a handful of slow zombies --albeit infinitely respawning zombies that can one-shot you--, sometimes it will also go the other way and have similarly instant-kill fast zombies or headcrabs and from there it doesn't stop] Horror maps which function as explorations with puzzle elements --also jumpscares in some of them I believe-- all made by the same creator: The Underground Undying part 1 & part 2 [my personal favorite of the set of maps by this creator, although second of them ends with a maze which can be awkward to get through] A Castle's Heart Deja-vu: Halloween 2014

For me, I recommended Nosocomephobia purely because it has a low enemy count. Thus wouldn't be too terribly overwhelming in VR.

There's VR HL2 weapons on the workshop, which includes a crowbar you actually swing, and there's a physical crowbar addon that works like the crowbar in boneworks

11:11 I know how you can get this prop. First you go into the files of GMOD Go into the “addons” folder Search for the map, and once you find it copy the file Go back into the “Garrys Mod” folder then click a folder called “bin” Than paste the addon into the folder, then drag it into something called “gmad.exe” which basically decompiles addons, then search for that model then your done
