Hey Gmodists! Just watch my newer video instead it is better and covers all you need to know with the new updates since: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJaaYpdtaM-sf6s

UPDATE: EMP has had a little rework, stone and wood still works as insulation against EMP, but rubber is much more worth it now and should be used to protect important parts, for more info check this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGLQmoKEed19rrc HeavyArmour no longer takes EMP damage but instead works as a superconductor. Also checkerboard armour is not really worth the time, better to just have layers of metal/wood, wood is however still technically the best armour in the game, technically, you still want a hard shell amour it to not loose HP fast. Ammo also chain reacts more the more firepower you have, for powerful projects you probably need HA to not make them chain react.

That Ammo trick is super cool for ammo, never realized that.

This video was absolutely great! I was having a hard time figuring out when to use hesh and heat, definitely using reinforced wood for the wrong applications, I finally understand the logic for firing piece protection using the wedges and got some great tips for affordable armor. Thank you!

In my (seventh?) Attempt at the Adventure mode, I was able to get by with a fairly sloped, semi-Expensive Craft with angled Alloy armor backed by wood underneath. Then the Cram of the Bastion came and ruined my 1hr 23 minute adventure as it just came through and smashed the heck out of the layers. I believe adding an extra stone layer under the wood would have prevented that, right?

Ohno XD Well the more arnour the stronger, bur redundancy is more important, and bulk

@@GMODISM Ah, thanks. Also didn't really have a turret cap that covered the opening from above fully.

now theres a problem with wedges since plasma hates em when they are behind the armor with no gap
@GMODISM8 ай бұрын
Yes, in my heat and hesh tests it was already concluded a full airgap is always worth it in front of the wedges, so do that and you have solved plasma too

Its explained in this video though...

@@GMODISM i see you explain vaguely composite, do you have a video that goes into deeper details?

Because it is much more cost efficient and lightweight compared to two layers of metal but that can also be achieved by simply having two layers of different material, the checkerboard's actual advantage is its resistance against HE damage and a more balanced overall armour strength, while having two straight layers would either suffer from explosive damages taking out the whole wood layer, or easily get penetrated by AP shells but in the case of checkerboard, the AP shell would be met with at least 50%~100%(45°) metal while two layer would definitely be 50% metal
