Your videos are for me are my favourite tutorials for lightburn. You explain everything so clearly for a newbie. I know the fonts at the end as single line fonts. Thank you

I have watched numerous videos on LB software. You aced it! Your teaching skills and approach is far superior to any other I have viewed. You obviously have some background or past experience as an instructor. You should have a donation link. I would definitely contribute.

I appreciate the kind words. I've never been a teacher but I have a lot of experience as a proxy between developers and users which tends to translate well. My biggest criticism of doing videos like this is that I wish it was more of a back-and-forth with users than me droning on.

8th grade in the 80s, 9th grade in the 90s. By that rate, you would still be in High School. (10 years between grades). Great tutorial. Should be watched by all new laser owners.

I knew about SHX fonts but not how to really use them. I can see me using them in the future. Thanks for the video.

Appreciate the feedback. Feel free to pause, rewind and pick apart the different bits or just let me know if you want me to cover something in depth a bit more to give more time to process features or steps.

Great video. I didn’t know about the max width function in shape properties. A handy thing to know.
@thetinkerverse9 ай бұрын
I actually picked that one up from the LBX replay. It definitely fills a need especially when you're using variable text.

Thanks Carl,Im new to laser engraving and really liked how you explained where to go with the cursor to activate some of the functions it was easy to follow. Most others just click and you don’t know where the hell they have clicked and just move on. Great video and I have learned a lot more about the text functions which I did not know. Hopefully you do a lot more videos to follow Many thanks

Excellent tips. Thanks for sharing. Is there a way to word wrap a long text selection?
@thetinkerverse9 ай бұрын
I don't know of any way to auto-wrap, no. Although I'd imagine it wouldn't be a huge stretch to combine it into the max width functionality. Maybe something to put in a suggestion for.

Hi Carl, really learning a lot from your lightburn videos, I have a quick question, how do you make the fill on text or shapes appear on the screen ?
@thetinkerverse5 ай бұрын
Shift + Alt + W is the hotkey or go to Window > Toggle Wireframe / Filled. Content would have to be on a fill layer to show like this otherwise it stays wireframe.

I am truly excited for the SHX files but for the life of me I cannot get them to come up like you did. You clicked the font box, it gave you the option to select SHX files, but when I click on mine it doesn't give me that option. I have rewatched that part some many times now and I don't understand where I have gone wrong. Please help me sort this out as this is important for me to get!!! Thank you so very much, Trish
@thetinkerverse7 ай бұрын
Did you put them in an easily accessible folder (not behind admin permissions or anything) and point Lightburn to that folder? In the Settings window under File Settings, make sure the path is right next to the Set SHX Font Path button. If that's not right, you won't see the rest of the SHX options.

Great video but the jingling in the background that sounds like a dog collar is very distracting!
@thetinkerverse7 ай бұрын
Sorry about that and wish I could do something about it. Old dog who paces non-stop and I honestly didn't realize it was in the video until well after I posted it as I've grown numb to the sound. I've since started taking off his collar when I start recording.
