Hi, This GCAN course and GCAN+ANP course, both does not give you AHPRA registration. These both course just give u a student visa to enter in Australia, that’s all. During this course or after finishing this course, students have to pass ENCLEX RN and OSCE. Already spending this much money and time to finally get AHPRA registration?? Instead you (anyone who wants to get AHPRA registration) can do one year nursing conversion course which has 400 hours of hospital placement plus theory, which makes a student eligible to apply for AHPRA registration. It’s a one year course but finishes in 8-10 months depending on your placement, some get early placements and some get late, but everything finishes in 1 year. Even GNM nurses with experience (not sure how many years), can get to finish this course in 1 year. BSc nurses can also do this course (working in India or gulf countries). No experience required for BSc nurses who have recently graduated (not more than 5 years) or still working. This course is available in Perth (3 universities)and Melbourne (1 university). During this course or after this course you don’t have to study for ENCLEX RN or OSCE, because this course is equivalent to Australian nursing standards to be eligible for AHPRA registration. And in the other GCAN courses you have mentioned, if student does not pass ENCLEX or OSCE, they have try again..I am not discouraging, but these exams are tough. Also if you want to directly apply for registration to AHPRA, after assessing your documents, they will ask you to clear ENCLEX and OSCE anyway (if your qualifications are not equivalent). Then why would anyone would waste money on this GCAN courses, when in the end they have to sit for ENCLEX and OSCE? They can directly apply for AHPRA registration and the assessors would let you know anyway, they will give you referral for ENCLEX RN exam and once you have cleared, they will give you referral for OSCE, depending on your experience and country you have graduated from. Why would anyone do this GCAN course to finally know in the end that they have to study for ENCLEX, when you can get to know about this by apply directly? Just for coaching? That you can get from anywhere. And I am not here to tarnish any company s image or reputation, but sorry to say, some of my friends have got visas from india for this GCAN course thinking they would get registration, but they have not. And finally they had to do this 1 year nursing conversion program. And audience, please go and read properly the course details in university’s page before believing or trusting any agents randomly. Read the career outcomes of the course you are planning to do in the university’s page (whichever university you are planning to). Because, you are investing so much money after all, why would not research properly about that course??

After this qualification GNM nurse will be having a post graduate nursing qualification. Then you will be eligible for OBA exam process in Australia, same as a Bsc nurse. GNM nurses can even continue studying Master of Nursing at IHM, GCAN course is the first semester of Master of Nursing course.
