Where is everyone that’s missing in the loops without those characters? Especially since the True Ending shows that LeVi still considers Jonas alive even when he’s not on the ship in that loop… so where the hell is he? In the loop with the true ending, that’s an awful lot of missing characters…..
@nivyan
@nivyan 2 жыл бұрын
They're likely in cold sleep. The first few loops are introducing characters, which could simply be explained by the Gnosia presence being detected before people were woken up. Like how the player' doppelganger is in the pod until Setsu takes them to the other dimension. Otherwise, any loop without 15 people can't be explained.

I mean, you are jumping into different universes/timelines/dimensions. In some of them, some characters simply arent there, while others some simply are. Thats honestly the least confusing part. Also, im not talking about not existing in that universe, but simply they just didnt get on the ship in that loop. Altho when we put into considerration the very fitting theory that you are all in a program/simulation/actually inside gnos, most of these questions become rather trivial.

Seeing as everyone argues how it is pronounced, it's γnosia with a soft g (greek γ), since it's from the greek word γνωσις (gnosis). Also you can see that it comes from greek because in the loading screen it says something like "don't be afraid when you have knowledge" or something like that in greek. I'm greek so I'm 99.9% sure that it's pronounced γνώσια (γnOsia)

Maybe it really is all a simulation and that would explain why many characters wish to change or become something? Otome = Human Chippie = Cat Manan = Wants her youth Sha-Ming = Grew up with monkeys and maybe was one? Shigemichi = Didn't previously look like an Alien I'm not sure if Raqio/Setu being non-binary relates to that but I'd love to hear your thoughts! The only thing confusing me is if you're an admin, who saved Setsu the very first time? Wouldn't the MC's body be in a pod on Day 0? D: I also want to say it felt great watching your video and seeing someone love the game as much as I did. I love mystery games and this one especially hit me hard. I felt so sad after the initial ending so I'm beyond happy there's a true, more "ideal" ending.

As much as I would love to answer your questions, I honestly have no clue. I have seen that theory, and it does seem plausible, but to my knowledge there isn't actually anything confirming it, although it would certainly be nice if it is true. But it's still very confusing regarding the keys... During the entire game, all keys that we see are instances of the exact same one. And, during a common ending, Setsu is essentially trapped to forever continue looping, because their own key fills up only in the true ending. Considering those, the lifetime of the silver key becomes this: Player gets key from Raqio and saves Setsu -> Setsu continues to loop -> Player fills up their key, opening the portal, giving Setsu our own key -> Setsu emerges into the new universe where they either give us our own key that they used to transport | OR | the true ending occurs, Setsu's key is complete and now there are two deactivated keys, one of them is used to send off Manan and then given to her. So that begs the question: how does the player get their own key? There's no starting point for us to get it and it becomes a continuous cycle of us completing our own key, sending it off to a new universe and giving it back to us, but we never truly "get" it. What's the first instance of us getting one that is not connected to this looping cycle? Maybe in the true ending Manan has actually gone off with two keys, one of them being deactivated, which is then given to the player? Yeah... indeed, it's better structured if we consider that when we open the portal for Setsu the deactivated key stays with the player, so Setsu completes their own key and gives it to the player, but then the normal ending doesn't make sense, because Setsu ultimately stops looping after all and is not actually trapped. And btw, I think the point of Manan hiding her identity as gnosia is still valid, because when she's transported to a new universe, she's transported there physically, while the silver key transports only your consciousness. Your status in a universe hinges on your physical state. But wait, wouldn't that mean that SQ still stays as gnosia in the true ending, because she's still physically infected? Gahh, so many unanswered questions still!

These are some great thoughts and theory's but unfortunately, I doubt we'll get an answer to many of these
@Jourlik

About silver keys, if i understand your question correctly, then i think i sort of got the answer.(though this is still not for sure, and just my speculations). So the key that you have is filled in the normal ending and you open the door with it. With doing so, you give the key to other you in the pod already. After transfering to another universe, Setsu gives you a briefing and after putting Manan in the sleep, "gives" the silver key. Now, if we ignore the true ending (after the first run she still had to go somewhere), it's safe to say that after giving the key she's forced to stay in a loop forever (could explain why sometimes in runs, she just plays her role completely discarding the investigation) and Setsu that we investigate with later in the game is a new one, that didn't give the key yet. True ending is where the real brain breaking begins. Player somehow is teleported back into the loop, as another him. Your consciousness might be tied to all of your variations, no matter how many times you are freed (that could explain why you never experience anything out of the ship in normal or true ending) or that could just be his powers. In the true end Setsu never activates your silver key, but she does the same while transferring Manan, so i guess the key is automatically activated after getting through the door??? But that just means that in the first run Setsu doesn't actually gives or activates anything, she just tells you about the silver key. And if Manan has a working key, then that means so is new players body. When Setsu tells you thanks and that you will be parting ways, she says that knowing you stuck in the loop again while she is freed. So player can continue the cycle, because his key is always given to him and Setsu's given to Manan. Regarding the beginning of the cycle and loops, this is where the concept of infinity comes in. It never truly starts, because just as you can never end the infinity, you can also never start or create it. So basically, the cycle was always here, this is why it's truly infinite.
@nivyan
@nivyan 2 жыл бұрын
Setsu is given her key by a version of the player that's already looping. It's repeated multiple times because Setsu and the player' loops aren't linked and are basically random - the player' 42nd loop might be Setsu' 69th. Setsu begins looping because the player is looping. The player begins looping because Setsu is looping. This infinite loop is causing the key to appear in two places at once. The 'entrance' to the loop is the player waking up and not knowing what's going on. The 'exit' is when the player wakes up and reminds Setsu of watching a movie/fishing. The loops are limbo - all of the characters in Gnosia are cyberized and probably sent to Genos. The loops are there to serve as their purgatory or place of reaching enlightenment to be reincarnated, depending on your beliefs. This might only be true for Setsu and/or you - but it's not really relevant. What *is* relevant, is that the world Setsu was looping in ended when you gave her the information she required to stop looping - to reach 'tomorrow' or Genos/heaven/hell/afterlife/next life/lots of bitches. All of the characters in Gnosia are themed around transformation/ascension or rejecting it. The only exception is Yuriko - she's the ferryman. She's the one that made you 'accusable' and activated Raqio' perception of you. Those were both required for you to eventually stop looping. If you don't like the afterlife interpretation, then just consider Manan is given the key and travels to the past. In the thousands of years before the first loop takes place, Raqio acquires the key Manan threw away/left somewhere and everything starts over, infinitely repeating. The game itself is telling you that you need a different interpretation or the game never ends.

Ok ut how is there only one key? Setsu's key is taken from Raqio and left in the hands of Manan, but the main character (MC) key is given by Setsu after another iteration of him filled the key, so while Setsu's key has a clear entry and exit point in the loop, the MC key is passed from MC to MC until you break the loop by conscience transfer.

You are an anomaly, as when you start your save file, you are inserted into the world of gnosia as you were never meant to be there. When that happens, the two timelines happens sequentially and as her timeline has an order, your does as well since its starts the initial time paradox. This is more simpler to think about when you know about the Schrödinger’s cat theory. Setsu beginning and end live in perpetuity until you the player make a save and start the game where she gives you the key

@nivyan
@nivyan 2 жыл бұрын
I'd agree with Raqio, because they clearly state it. Setsu only ever mentions it when Sha-Ming is being inappropriate about flirting with her. It's an example of different people treating being binary differently. Some binary people prefer being called their biological gender, some don't. I personally interpret it as Raqio is hetero- or homosexual (in relation to their biological gender), making it more important. Whereas Setsu only ever mentions it when being treated poorly, specifically a female. My interpretation is that Setsu is pan- or bisexual and doesn't care about the pronouns, but uses it as a defence for people treating her inappropriately. It's another level of handling binary people like regular people. Setsu' gender was never relevant, and was simply a part of her identity - whether she was female, male or binary would only have changed the dialogue with Sha-Ming. But it's completely up to interpretation.

Its literally stated non stop in the game that Raqio and Setsu are nonbinary and use exclusively they/them pronouns. I could get if it was a slip of the tongue in one or two clips, it happens to the best of us, but its almost comical how much this video misgenders both of them. If its not intentionally ignorant, its just plain transphobic. @@Localbisexual "Non-stop"? With Raqio maybe, but Setsu only mentions it once. And going by that logic, accusing someone of being transphobic can damage a person's mental health too. For starters, Setsu and Raqio are non-binary; although I do know that non-binary people fall under the umbrella of the trans movement, that doesn't necessarily means that someone who identifies as non-binary is trans. "Usually the issues with misgendering is because they are transphobic!". Except in reality, it's mostly because they hold traditional gender values, as many people do (misgendering is normal until you get to know them, since people usually use pronouns based on how they look like). The poster here does show the quality of his "video essay" by misgendering them indeed, but it doesn't makes him inherently bad. Besides, the creator of this video has already admitted their mistake in the comment section. There's no need to add fuel to the fire to a 1-2 year old video when others have already called him out for it already.

@@loren5432Firstly, its mentioned several times throughout the game that Setsu is nonbinary. The creator obviously knows a lot about gnosia, so its quite literally impossible that they could have forgotten. I'm not saying the creator still has these views, but the person I was replying to was saying that it "wasn't a big deal and wasnt intentional" or some such. Also…what do you mean nonbinary people arent trans ? Are you referring to intersex people when you say that? Because…you do not need to be intersex to be nonbinary. trans·gen·der /ˌtranzˈjendər,ˌtran(t)sˈjendər/ adjective adjective: transgender; adjective: transgendered denoting or relating to a person whose gender identity does not correspond with the sex registered for them at birth.
