Only an 11 string guitar would allow this kind of range on a single instrument (other than a piano). Seems that you extract every benefit to create the kind of space in between the background section and melody. Love your setup, how those delays widen and expand the sound, your performance on this Satie tune is like a journey! Great work!

Such an incredible piece on its own already. The way you made this piece into the most immersive and profound piece of ART that may have ever graced my unknowing, young ears is just epiphanal. Your custom ax opens up so much to your playing and your heart, and the way you present it just baffles me beyond afterlife. I can't have in words how much this inspires me to gain your wiseness in this highly complex craft. (The way that deeeeep D rings and vibrates during that d minor after that g minor in the theme, for example at 2:33.... extraordinarily vivacious and beautiful, this is :O )

I found this a while back, can’t really tell you how I feel every time I hear those “deep” notes (sorry, dunno much about music theory to explain it better) but I can tell you they make my soul FLY! Goosebumps and everything! Introduced you to some friends and they ALL loved you. Really love this and I hope you can add it on Spotify … please? I already downloaded this on MP3 (sorry, I dont have access to youtube often) so I can hear it almost anytime I need your tune. (Which can goes up to 10~15 times a day :D ) Keep up the good job. But I can tell you this: I’m working on material for an classical music-album with my grand-guitar; classical music from the medieval times to present day. Gnossienne no 1 is one hot candidate for that album. what? I didn't notice this vid when I scanned your vids. I only guessed Satie from listening to that first movement of your 9 movement piece (which I already forgot the name of, dang it). your last string is up there in piano land. an octave above a normal guitar. How do you not go crazy with so many options? hehe Very cool. I don't want to imagine what a guitar like that would cost to build. LOTS. That pickup is like 8 inches long. I guess your amp must need to be set to reproduce nice bass frequencies using clean sounds. anyway, very nice!

Thanks, man =) Well, after 25 years of playing my grand-guitar (in many different genres) I still like I have only scratched the surface of possibilities. I got my guitar very cheap - half the price of the wood work, at least. I think my grand-guitar ended up with ... 8000 US $ - half the price. And this was 30 years ago. I’ using full range speaker (not very good one nowadays but they will do at home, and/but other "stuff" in studio productions. I no matter what kind of gear I’m using from time to time, don‘t have a mindset of putting ’guitar and bass’ together in the EQ-mix; I’d rather some kind of piano approach to it. This mindset could best be heard on my solo album Gautigoths. Right now, I’m working on music by the great Arvo Pärt, in grand-guitar renditions, and a quadruple album with symphony orchestra/choir and my grand-guitar. ​@@robertritchiesse No, not on Farcebook. I'm kind of avoiding most social media places as far as being on them visibly. I'm on YT and that's about it. Just cuz I enjoyed uploading vids of stuff. Guitar, singing, religious opinions... short stories I did up as audios... etc. $8000 sounds like a decent price for that guitar. I mean, machining that vibrato tailpiece probably took someone a little time and just overall longer due to so many strings. It's not for me but I bet it's very fun to play and probably feels like exploring sometimes with even new tunings. How do you remember so many pieces of music???? I guess I'm getting old or just never learned properly to learn music or I just really gravitated toward rock mostly and heavy metal so the Holdsworth stuff... mostly just watch vids of him every year or so to be amazed and kind of like uh... some of it's ok. But I'm not into jazz or jazz fusion really. But if it's just genre-less, so to speak, I can probably get into it. Just chords and notes. I guess that's kind of what Allan was doing but the extended chords and outside notes well... I guess doesn't move me so much. The slow stuff I like probably better. Of course I do, hence it took appr. 7 years to build it, in the 90s, 1991-1997 (a lot of details to go through on the blueprint stage): Ådin & Ekvall Instrument (Grebbestad, in Sweden). :)

Well, thanks ... I guess. =) Not a bad idea you brought up .... but if so, there would be plus a few other classical music tunes then, as a grand guitar solo album. I’ll think about it. Who knows. Time tell. ... BUT! My next solo album will actually be - pretty much - in this kind of sound and expression - some kind of Bill Frisell/Arvo Pärt, Rachamninoff, Hans Zimmer, John Williams-mix in that concert music.. I have composed a whole grand guitar solo concert in eight movements. The recording of that concert - namned Gautigoths - will take place in the beginning of 2002, and hopefully released later on, a few months later. Cheers, Mr. waffle =) Robert
