Have a great Christmas and New Year, Chris. I've enjoyed our chats over the past few months as a fellow Gentoo user and sorry for not joining more live streams but life is just too busy at this end at the moment. Will partake more in 2024.

I found some good tips from the video, thanks! By the way, you can use ~(setq dashboard-projects-backend 'project-el)~ in the dashboard config if you use the built in project manager instead of projectile (dashboard doesn't really depend on projectile). You use many of the minad packages - any reason you use company instead of corfu? :)

hi man .. Great video .. I want to learn neovim or emacs .. can you tell me which one should i learn and which one is better and why?

Well they are two different programs. One is a text editor and the other is a elisp interpreter which can do several things. I would ask yourself do you just plan on editing text and if that’s the case I would just learn neovim but if you want something that can edit text, have a shell, file manager, music player, etc.. than emacs would be what you want to learn. I hope that helps

Yes emacs is far more than a text editor. Neovim is too, but I think in principle; emacs is just much more powerful (and complicated) than even neovim. It is absolutely the last thing a user should look at unless they have the resolve to actually put effort into learning it. It is a GREAT deal of effort that needs to be made for a “decent” understanding of emacs. Relatively speaking, neovim is also similar in that context compared to notepad. The same concept can be applied to a comparison between neovim and emacs in my opinion. I don’t know much about emacs, but I have tried. It’s not easy and takes time, that’s all you gotta know.

i find it weird that there are multiple packages in that config file where you seem to either not be using or not even know why or now to use it... really surprising.
