I can't remember the last time I bothered to comment on a KZbin video but I wanted to say thank you for an extremely accessible introduction to GNU Radio and - most of all - reminding me that I can set values to declared variables instead of tweaking the entire GUI constantly.

Thanks for the videos on GNU Radio. I spent a lot of time with SDRs trying to get data from them. Did not know about GNU Radio Companion. I happen to live in Houston. Thanks

Nice. How is it that your PC had no trouble processing the 2MHz stream?

In March of 2020, the Osmocom source is gone in GnuRadio Companion. What do we use instead?

Great starter tutorial - I'm already building simple radio projects thanks to you, even though the tutorial is many years old. It was well woth watching just for the initial get going first steps. I guess what would be nice would be the ability to turn a project into a stand alone executable without needing to run companion - not sure if thats ever to be a feature

Nice explanation. Wow there are a LOT of things one can do with Gnuradio! Kind of makes me want to dig around and find my old SDRplay dongle. What Linux flavor were you using?

I appreciate the effort that went into this. However, there are a couple of problems with this video 1) Too much time is spent showing and discussing the options slowly instead of explaining key things. 2) A minority will have an SDR that goes down to 15 Mhz or 1 Mhz as shown here. Most will have RTL-SDRs that only go down to 24 Mhz. It would have been better to show FM Broadcast which would be accessible to a wider audience. I recommend Michael Ossmann's SDR with HackRF tutorial series on Great Scott Gadgets. A HackRF isn't required for most of it. You can follow much with an RTL-SDR as long as you use 2 Mhz sample rates (or below. (The RTL-SDR generally tops out at around 2.4 Mhz sampling compared to the 20 Mhz that the HackRF can do.)

I don't find 1) to be much of a problem than it is a personal opinion. I personally prefer the detail that was included when explaining different options

My RTL-SDR Blog V4 can just barely listen to AM radio. I mostly followed this guide and received a scratchy 14 kHz AM radio station. FM is my next step

I have installed the GNU radio under my Windows, and couldn't find a way to connect my SDRPlay box. can you give me a hint?
@kodrawer7 жыл бұрын
Hi, Sefi. Have you ever found a way to get sdrplay to work with GNURadio under Windows? I just got an sdrplay RSP2, it works fine with SDRuno, but I cannot get it to work with GNURadio companion. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

This Part 2 is soooo much worse then Part 1. In what blocks are those variables put? for example.... I am finding it very hard to follow.
