I've owned a few. They were all made of billet aluminum. It would be cool to find one made of fairly pure magnesium. My bag already has a good chunk of it (a PureFire Tactical firestarter), but to have the sharpener as a backup magnesium source would be great. If you know of a source, please let me know.

Thank you for the video. The presentation was excellent. I have done many 10 and 20 mile scenarios to rest my gear in all weather conditions. I have found that the more weight you carry, the more resources you will consume. The more weight, you become better prone to injury. Also, i would recommend carrying at a liter of water for every 10 miles. Your get home bag can easily become a find water bag.

The most important thing for survival is a good medical bag. I try and think of the worst-case scenario and build around that. Having a good Trama Kit is VITAL for your survival. If you have a severe blood flow and you can't stop blood flow, you could die. It's also vital to have a mylar blanket for shock. I have several mylar sleeping bags, and they are very light and don't take much room. With these sleeping bags, I carry a LifeTent. Granted, these are not intended for long-term protection, but for emergencies, they work and have several ways to get out of the elements. I carry a LifeStraw to filter out water. You can live without food for a long time, but you can't live without water for 3 days. Having a decent multi tool is good for certain problems that could arise. You should also carry a knife, a fire starter kit, a flashlight, a signaling mirror, a whistle, hopefully a change of clothes, work gloves, bandages, a camp axe, some kind of nutrition bar to snack on, wipes ( in case you need to go number 2), survival cards, some duct tape, a zippo lighter, tweezers, magnifying glass, extra pair of glasses ( if you use perception glasses), pain relief, butterfly bandages ,a few doses of your medicine that you may take, a sharpie pen with paper, survival cooking set, survival fishing equipment, paracord, folding saw. This is my basic bag. Granted, it seems like a lot, but the idea is that if you are stranded, you can survive for as long as you need. All of the above fits in a few molly bags, a backpack, and a waist bag. It's not light, but it is not too heavy to carry. One thing to remember when creating your own BugOut bag is to have and not need rather than need and not have. Everyone is different, and not everyone will absolutely need what I have because of age, geographic area, weather conditions, and medical needs. There is no wrong in putting together a BugOut bag

My get home bag is a bit more expansive. My way home varies from 100 to up to 1600 miles depending on the load I'm under. At that point it's a lot more about strategy depending on the situation.

Decent lil go bag, get home bag.... I'd personally would go with a small backpack, add a shemagh or 2, there a multi tool in there selfs.. extra pair of socks, couple snacks and a unopened bottle of water to drink till you find a source of water which might take a lil while.
@MochiMoose
@MochiMoose Жыл бұрын
Extra socks and snacks for sure. Some redundancies in there could go, like the extra zip ties and what not. Shemagh also a good idea, or a bandana if you need to save space. Some extra cash might be a good idea, like $100, if he doesn’t keep cash in his wallet.

I use a very similar bag and setup of course something’s are different as is everyone. Staying mission specific is the key. I was happy to see you didn’t turn the bag into a camping gear bag.

Cool setup! I use those black hair ties women use, instead of rubber bands. Been doing that for years. They last way longer and are stronger. Might be something you might want to try. Just a suggestion. Happy prepping!

Since if you have to use this bad, you have a pretty good walk ahead of you, I would consider adding an extra pair of socks, mole skin, foot powder, and electrolyte tabs. I know space and weight is a premium, but, if the mission is to walk home, I want to prioritize gear that could be crucial to accomplishing that.

hey - kind of you to share this pack with us. It is a great pack that has lots of storage. It is very similar to the Maxpedition Fatboy that I have and made a video on too. They hold really a lot of storage and options. If I may make a suggestion: switch the paracord with the tourniquette; the latter you should have direct and easy access to. I would also keep the lifestraw in the same pocket or on another place outside the pack. Is just inconvenient to have to search for it when you need it. Is good that you have those. You have many good items in your bag. The multitool card is another example of something that can be very helpful. Garbagebags are also important and usefull - don;t let anyone tell ya not to take them, it is smart. Also to put your clothes in if there is a nuclear incident and you got exposed to fall out. Great solargadget, very helpfull! The scarf is a Palestinian Khefiya - very cool to have. Headlamp - perfect! I thought your remarks on the coffeefilters was very good, gave me some new ideas! Is it possible to have the gloves on a carabiner outside so you have easier access to them when needed? I dunno exactly what the size is of the main compartment, but would it fit a handsaw? Maybe add some proteinbars? Maybe add one of them small metal stoves with fuel tablets? If you have the gloves out that would all fit in there easily... So this was all very positive and supportive as a comment. But I also have to ask: silverbullits??? holywater??? wooden sticks??? Really?!?!?!? If you want tips, go check my videos on my bug out bag, inchbag, the Maxpedition Fatboy and the medical bags I assembled. Is the easiest way to get the tips you look for. :-) You seem like a friendly kind guy. Was nice to watch your video. Thanks for sharing - Jason

How about most likely....something happened to your vehicle and it's either wet or rainy and you need to get under your car or on the ground.... you can simply cut the garbage bag fully open and use it to lay down on and keep yourself and equipment and tools dry and clean...or at least cleaner than if you didn't have a garbage bag!!!!!among a million other uses!!!

Those 2 black clips on the side are nite ize cam jams, they work awesome lol I primarily use them on ridgelines for a quicker deploy option. Using them you can also do an entire shelter with one hand! Also you don't need to know any knots to use them, obviously its good to know the knots but its a good option for those that may not too. I'm prejudiced, I think all such bags, 'get home', 'bug out', 'edc', or 'inch' should contain the 10 C's of survival. I think you did, overall. I wasn't exactly grading you. Lol. I would include couple Bic lighters and duct tape if you didn't. I'm at work, and listen in one ear, so take it for what it is worth.

@@jackrabbit1379 thanks for the kind words, and you can always refer to my channel, especially cuz I have new videos coming the the next days and weeks. But I would very much encourage you to do make your own bag. You know, it all starts with what bag you choose to be your bug out or INCH bag. That makes so much difference. And you have your own views and intake on all of that, have your individual needs and skills and interests. Like what you carry for tools, for food, for medical first aid kit, for shelter, for so many things. And you will make your own choices on which items suit best for your needs. So please do make that bag and share your proces and endresult. It will be a learning and growthcurve for not just you but for all of us who watch your videos. I hope you will do this and continue your own journey this way. Look forward to see how you will decide and act on this. Greetings, Jason
