Not usually a fan of chamber music but thought I'd give this a listen anyway and boy, am I glad I did! First, my compliments to the person who did the mixing, instruments sitting back behind the vocals perfectly, just supporting and not overpowering them. And secondly, what beautiful vocals they are! When you are 'front and centre' like that, there's nowhere to hide and Monica shone, she has a certain vulnerability to her voice, yet conveys the lyrics with feeling and strength. Beautiful song by a beautiful artist.

I listen to the album version of this quite often. It's in one of my two KZbin playlists. And there's something about that line that always gets me. I love it. Maybe it's because it's otherwise a clean song so the swear is always a shock to the system, or maybe it's the nonchalant usage of it and the meaning behind it. But every time I sing it to myself, I always gleefully put a LOT of emphasis on it. And you're right, combined with her physical mannerisms and the breath that the orchestra takes just before she makes the point, it is absolutely one of the best usages of the word f*ck in a song ever.

Wow. Everything is placed nicely, has its own voice, and isn't arranged or mixed in a way where parts are fighting one another. Frankly, this is one of the better videos you folks have put out in a while. Lately, especially in a lot of your "stripped-down" videos, the mixing has been atrocious with instruments fighting the vocalist and each other. This was the opposite.

Monica building that repertoire! Is stories doing a stint or officially teaming up with yMusic? Either way this trifecta is phenomenal. Saw Scary Pockets at the Oshkosh Jazz Fest in Wisconsin last year. To see this around the MN (Rochester area) within the next year or two would be a DREAM.
