Sorry to learn that 🥺 Christmas and the time around it is not always fun for me as well since I lost my grandma 6years ago. I think a lot about her. Every day I fear I might lose someone else and since my mom is getting older and older and she smokes a lot that doesn't help. But I'm trying always to see the brighter side of things.

@@justrach_ I am very sorry for your loss of a loved one. In my 19 years, I have also lost a lot of people. But, there is one good saying, I learned about it when I watched Harry Potter for the first time in my life, it sounded like this: "Do not pity the dead. Pity the living, and especially those who live without love." After all, one way or another, the person we loved will live forever in our heart ❤️

The message in this video is incredibly important. Not only to repurpose the fabric, but the passing of knowledge. My father passed away when I was 16 and I was such an angsty teen I never appreciated his experience and knowledge. The things I wish I could ask him now as an adult. He was an artist and now I am as well but there are tricks of the trade that I never thought of asking him about, things that I know he had experience in but it died with him. If you are lucky enough to have your parents still with you, ask ask and ask away!! Thank you Bonnie!

It's always great to stay in connection with the own family, even after moving out. Sewing is also a very hard technique to learn but if you are able to do it correctly, it can be such an amazing hobby! Also the results can be breathtakingly beautiful. Sewing your own clothes is better as well because getting your clothes sent is not healthy for the world and produces unnecessarily much plastic with wrapping and such stuff.

You and your mum is a really great sewer! It was a great repurposing project! And I am 11 and I am trying to be eco-friendly but sometimes my family don't really believe it so I just watch Go Gently to learn more. Actually, I also have an idea where you have tea bags, put it in a container and then put it on the fridge and the next day you can use it. I do that and my family think it's weird but I do it anyway! You're such an inspiration, Bonnie Wright! 🥰🥰! You're my role model

Hello, Bonnie from Russia☺️ I just wanna to thank you for your great work. I feel so grateful that I’ve found this KZbin channel. Your videos are so cozy and warm. It’s like watching videos of a good friend. Thank you for sharing with us. You and your mom are so nice. Now I want to ask my mom to learn me knitting. Really can’t wait to read your book. Hope it will be available for order from Russia. I just so inspired by you and already started to do some simple things to support our planet. You mentioned very important thing in the beginning of this video. How in the beginning of new year you want to do big things. But you really just don’t have strength and want to relax and stay home. Good advice just to take time. Once again just thank you for your effort. And please continue 🙏

Good evening miss Wright. It's always good to see the use of fabric to make new things. This way raw material is saved. But be careful when using the sewing machine. It could be dangerous. I don't want you without a finger. Where I live there is the good practice of teaching the youngest people traditional works and customs. And so traditions are passed from generation to generation.

It’s so important to learn things while doing them with someone too, my Nana had a recipe that all her daughters have in their possession but my Mum is the only one who can make it just like Nanas because she cooked it with her and made notes of all the extra bits and techniques that have evolved over the years of my Nana making the recipe.

There is something so therapeutic about this video. You two and the classical piece near the end (that makes for nice mood music) helps, but perhaps it IS the sewing; my grandmother is also a lovely seamstress, and I took a handful of sewing classes into college, and hearing a sewing machine holds a fond place in my heart, apparently. :-)

Billy is living the slow and gently vibe. Loved the video again. I started sewing last year during the first lockdown in Germany and it has really become a great hobby. I am, however, still on a hunt for a shop that offers dead fabric stocks. Really hard to find around here and especially for bigger sewing projects, where you need more fabric I am still findig it hard to go for the repurpose variation of things.
